How would Matthew 13:18-23 fit with your method to discern whether someone is saved?

What do you say when you're baptizing someone?

When we execute the ordinance of baptism, those given authority to administer the physical immersion say, We, the body of Christ at Monarch, baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This recognizes the authority given to the church which is keeping covenant and...

How easy should it be for a Baptist church to accept a new member.

Acts 2:47"...And the Lord added to THE CHURCH daily such as should be saved." The only way an individual can be added to covenant membership in our church is through the ordinance of baptism seen executed by both John the Baptist and the disciples of Christ. Definitely not a tradion of men but...

How easy should it be for a Baptist church to accept a new member.

Came to believe I was a sinner and did not want to go to hell and that Jesus would save me if I just had enough faith, baptized twice by full immersion around 11 and again around 13 because I questioned whether I was saved the first time. I was baptized the second time in a church whose...

How easy should it be for a Baptist church to accept a new member.

Y You are right. Unfortunately we have had to exclude members who subsequently went to other churches and became members, We were never called or written by that church to inquire of that person's status while with us. I don't know if they even asked that person about past membership. Surely...

How easy should it be for a Baptist church to accept a new member.

We would examine the scriptures that a potential member would present. If we were in disagreement it would seem appropriate to ask that member what about our doctrines caused them to want to be a part of us. If there were an impass, it would be better not to be joined to a potentially...

The desolate land of Israel becomes like the Garden of Eden

True. The temple had to be plowed under demonstrating that the kingdom was taken and given to another nation. Matt 21:43

    Exact moment you were saved???

Christ told the Jews the kingdom of God is in the midst of you (Luke 17:21) in the form of the beginnings of the New Covenant church. Christ came preaching the gospel or glad tidings of the kingdom of God. (Mt 4:23 and 9:35) He came to fulfill the law and restore or set in order the right...

How easy should it be for a Baptist church to accept a new member.

That would be the decision of the church as it has authority. I personally would vote against receiving that person as a member. What you call a minor doctrine could be a major distraction since that resulting in division in the church. We experienced that probably 50 years ago with certain...

    Exact moment you were saved???

When you do a sturdy of the word gospel it is called the gospel of the kingdom in 5 verses. Mt 4:23, 9:35, 24:14, Mk 1:14,15. The gospel then become the glad tidings or good news of the kingdom of God revealed or put in order. Christ then goes on to reveal it saying the kingdom of God is "like...

How easy should it be for a Baptist church to accept a new member.

We are not KJO so that would not be an issue. It would depend on whether the text used would cause interpretional divisions or conflicts. We interpret the scripture on the basis of kingdom theology and any requesting membership would be told before hand.

    Exact moment you were saved???

How can God look into the future if the future is not already established? And if already established so he would know to whom to give faith, who established the future that he might look into it?

    Exact moment you were saved???

How would you integrate Phillipians 1:29 with your theology. For unto you it is GIVEN, in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but to suffer for his sake. Did the Father look into the future and see who would believe then give them the faith to believe? Both the Father and the...
