Red herring … what about the Bible verses where God actually DOES say that he makes all things happen (without using the word “sovereign”)?

The tricky part is always defining “Free Will”. Free from what? Free to do what? Is your will 100% free from all external influences? (Can you choose to have Bacon and Eggs for breakfast even if you didn’t buy any Bacon and you are allergic to eggs?) (Can you choose to be an NFL quarterback...

Not “paid” but “cancelled”. I have no idea what Greek words were employed nor am I adequate to “pontificate” in their distinction in the original language. However, I speak English and to “pay” a debt and to “cancel” a debt are not the same thing. Since it was this action by God towards this...

Some 2025 Polling data summarized (United States):

I just read an article on grammar that discussed that ... the rules are tricky Why “A Historic” and “An Historic” Are Both Technically Correct

"Bring back the 88 book Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Bible!" ... is that what you meant? :) (We need the Book of Sinodos)

It is an American RIGHT. So soon after Memorial Day, I would have expected more respect for the right to complain that so many sacrificed so much to preserve. ;)

Gridlock is irrelevant. Even when one party controlled both houses of Congress and the White House, they failed to pass meaningful reform on anything that really matters (immigration, health care costs, the budget, social security, the decline of the middle class/income gap, tax reform). The...

Koine Greek. (God reinspired people to get it right.) ;)

Where I have mixed feelings is the question of what should a pastor's salary be when the church can afford it. Clearly the Pastor should not be struggling to feed his family in a large, affluent congregation that can afford to support him. However, is it proper for the pastor to earn in the...

If I could make an observation as a bystander: Love the exchange (I want to hear the exegesis for both sides), but the tone … not so much. As a Baptist, we are supposed to be more tolerant of “Individual Soul Liberty” and as Christians, people with different opinions could end up as next door...

I see “propitiation” as less a turning aside of wrath, and more a restoring of a relationship that was broken. More like the embrace of the Father at the return of the Prodigal Son that heals the relationship that the son broke.

What is your opinion of Ben Hur? (It contains inaccuracies.)

My view is irrelevant. You “real Christians” already voted with your dollars and “faithful” movies still attracted haters while losing their financial shirts. So, don’t shoot the messenger … you created the reality (I saw the bad movies to try and support Christian film makers).

Reading a book is not theatrical drama, no. Portraying Jesus like a Puritain Minister sent to stamp out JOY is not relatable, no.

The Lumo Project: Founded by Alex Proyas, this multi-film series uses unabridged, word-for-word Gospel text as its script, with narrators reading the scripture over acted, historically accurate depictions of Jesus’s life. The Gospel of John (2003): Directed by Philip Saville, this epic 3-hour...

Ok, using ONLY the Bible, prove Mark wrote the Gospel of Mark. (Since we are discarding Biblical Scholars and Theology and only the Bible counts.)

Many of what you call “problems” are not true problems. You do realize that people have made verbatim dramatizations of scripture that include exactly what is in the Bible and add NOTHING that is not … few people watch them. The Chosen deliberately set out to do something different. It is a...

The verbatim identical portions of Matthew and Mark indicate to most textural scholars that SOMETHING existed as a written reference source from which both writers drew (as each was “inspired by the Holy Spirit to create the Gospels that bear their name). If the Holy Spirit was able to use a...
