Is the Doctrine of Original Sin Biblical?

This shows that God will judge sinners. It doesn’t mean that they couldn’t repent.

Is the Doctrine of Original Sin Biblical?

The Scripture came from Scripture and only stated that men are sinners. All of the points that followed without Scripture don’t show that God created certain people without the ability to receive salvation. The fact that God knows who will and won’t has nothing to do with the ability of any...

Is the Doctrine of Original Sin Biblical?

But He came unto His own and His own received Him not. Tell me why God said he loves the world but only saves some?

Is the Doctrine of Original Sin Biblical?

By choice. As it says there in 2 Peter 3 “this they are willingly ignorant of.” If they are willing to reject the truth of the flood, why are they not able to be willing to reject the truth of Christ?

Is the Doctrine of Original Sin Biblical?

Because God will judge does not mean that that was what He intended. Jesus taught that a house divided cannot stand. God does not do as foolish man and say let us do evil that good may come. God is not willing destruction. But He is just and will do right.

Is the Doctrine of Original Sin Biblical?

Not without 120 years of warning, which could have saved more had they accepted. I understand Scripture to say that they could have accepted and heeded warning. Instead they chose wrongly.

Is the Doctrine of Original Sin Biblical?

How do you find that original sin is atoned for?

Is the Doctrine of Original Sin Biblical?

It is an academic point to say that Those who will not be saved, will not be saved. As far as I can tell we disagree on the point where I read Scripture to say that where all are gone out of the way, and have all gone out of the way, the Lord laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

Is the Doctrine of Original Sin Biblical?

We can agree on some of that but God is not willing that any should perish. It is the things that you leave out and the handles that you plant that I cannot affirm.

Is the Doctrine of Original Sin Biblical?

Not as you say it. If I was not able to be saved because God would not reveal Himself to me in such a way that I could find Him, that would be my excuse. It is a pretty good one. I couldn’t come because You wouldn’t let me. Romans says all are without excuse. That tells me that the way God has...

Is the Doctrine of Original Sin Biblical?

Yes. I am pretty sure context has a lot to do with it. So I doubt very much that the destruction spoken of in the following verse is intended to include believers since it is salvation that is being discussed. Since there are unbelievers in the same thought whose destruction is being discussed...

Is the Doctrine of Original Sin Biblical?

Romans 5:15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. If many is all in the beginning of the verse it will be at the end. The...

Is the Doctrine of Original Sin Biblical?

But it seems we can agree only so far in Scripture. When you begin to say that God has not revealed Himself to all men and that only the men He has revealed Himself to can be saved- as you cram all these thoughts together, I don’t find them to be Scriptural and hence they are not accurate.

Is the Doctrine of Original Sin Biblical?

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Emphasis mine. And there goes limited atonement. According to the original sin preferred...

Is the Doctrine of Original Sin Biblical?

That’s interesting. Show me Scripture instead of Google. I don’t want man made creeds. I want Scripture.

Do the KJVO accept any other Translation really then?

I have read the definitions. I don’t put myself in any of them. If I don’t explain myself correctly or if someone misunderstands me, I have no doubt someone will assign me a number. I use the KJV. I have investigated personally which translation I want to use. I do think this topic is one that...

Is the Doctrine of Original Sin Biblical?

It might say all that on theopedia and people might affirm it, that doesn’t make it true. What Scripture does teach is that God has been reaching out to every individual sinner as the Lamb slain before the foundation of the world. As such, there are no people in existence that are powerless to...

Is the Doctrine of Original Sin Biblical?

I suppose we should sort out definitions first. When I hear someone say “doctrine of original sin,” I assume they mean what most writers on the subject are talking about. What that means to me is that there are writers, John Calvin for example, who believe that all people have “original sin”...
