President Donald Trump’s budget director Mick Mulvaney reassured supporters that the White House would build a wall, previewing it to reporters at the White House press briefing.

“We are absolutely dead serious about the wall,” Mulvaney said, calling it one of the president’s “top three” budget priorities.

He pushed back against reports that said the administration was reducing funding for the border wall, pointing out that Trump’s budget was a dramatic increase in border security from the previous year.

The 2017 budget included $1.5 billion for border security and $3 billion for the Department of Homeland Security. The 2018 budget, he explained, requested $2.6 billion and $4.5 billion for DHS.

The text of the budget specifies funds for “a physical wall” on the southern border of the United States.

The funding would help fund replacement wall, new wall, roads and infrastructure for the wall as well as land acquisition.

The director suggested that supporters should be patient regarding the wall, noting that it was only the first step in the lengthy project.

“Keep in mind, you can’t just … you don’t automatically magically build a wall in the middle of nowhere,” he said.

On Monday, Mulvaney previewed a $1.6 billion request for “actual bricks-and-mortar construction.”

He described “competition” process for getting the best possible wall design for each area of the Southern border, citing 4-8 prototypes that were currently being constructed.

“We fully expect that different barriers will serve best in different areas,” Mulvaney said.

and LOL! McCain, Mr. "Complete Danged Fence" is opposed:
MCCAIN: TRUMP’S BUDGET DEAD ON ARRIVAL

I'm trying to think if any of the Trump predictions are coming true.

Waste of money. God put a free wall between us and Cuba and last time I checked Miami has some of the best Cuban food in the country.

Ridiculous comparison.

Not really. If people want in they will get in. You think its easier to get around a wall rather than build a castaway raft and brave the open ocean?

4 years from now when the wall is built and Trump is out of office what then? How many administrations are going to maintain the wall after this one?

I do not see this wall as being our problem solver on the Mexican border.

But hey, instead of generic one line replies to my comments why not expand on why it is ridiculous instead of just spending the day surfing the web and copy and pasting others articles on here?

The border security between N and S Korea works pretty well.

LOL, Mexico isn't sitting there at our border threatening to kill defectors.

So you have nothing to add to what I said? If so, then why even reply with such a simple, uninformative reply?
My point is, we can secure a border when we choose to.

It's dangerous to engage with you. You turn nasty real fast when you are disagreed with and have ways of showing your disagreement that others don't have.

You already tried insulting me once and it only took one post to get there. You can give that one up. It doesn't work. Never has.

But this one time , just for the sake of argument, maybe you would explain the terms of the Mexican Adjustment Act that will render a "wall" of any kind ineffective.

If you're willing to do that, you don't really need a wall. Just catch some migrants and execute them in the desert and leave the bodies as an example to others.

The wall is also a message to the Mexican government and her people as well as to the world.

We invite you in to pursue the American BUT DO IT LEGALLY.

When WMD cross the border, maybe your mind will change. An illegal Mexican tried to kill me. I think it would have been wonderful for him to have been shot at the border.

How do you know what's in my mind? I was simply pointing out the logic of the issue.
