Emphasis mine, and I agree with you. It would be. Doesn't the Bible yer always waving in our faces discourage laziness ? What does it say about the lazy ? Care to respond, this time ?

It is not the duty of government to make poor people rich even as much as they'd really like it.

It is the duty of Christian individuals and the Church to care for the fundamental needs of others who are without means of their own and to do so to the glory of God who provides everything we all have and enjoy.

Government is very ineffective at charity and tends to misuse funding - because it's not really their own money - for political purposes or grand social re-engineering projects devoid of any glory to God.

It is best to leave charity to those who are best able to handle it and make binding decisions about when and where and how and for whom to use their contributions.

People tend to appreciate help they receive from people they know but tend to consider such from the government as a entitlement or right.
