Wow. Although we did just cross the 40 million mark in abortions in the US. I'm not sure we're any better in God's eyes.

I realize that and am not putting that on the back burner but what gods are we appeasing now?... God called Abram out of that but that is better discussed in another forum... Brother Glen:)

I had an old Baptist friend I use to work with by the name of Leo.

Leo would sum up this whole ordeal with one word.... Sick!

Mother Nature and Father Time are the gods of our age, and evils like abortion are justified though belief in those god's. Our society believes all has come to be through these 2 gods—deep time and evolution.

But abortion is not an appeasement per se, so point taken. It was just an unavoidable thought I voiced in passing. Sorry, no intention to distract from your main point. I digress....

You didn't digress... Thank you for your input... It is my belief that the 40 million plus are now, safe the arms of Jesus... Man may abort... God never does!... Brother Glen:)

In our case it is the primal gods of pleasure, ease, and comfort. Not to mention greed.

I just saw this on the internet of a new discovery in Peru... Thought is might be of interest to some... What some would go through to appease their gods... Why innocent children?... Brother Glen:Cry

Truly one of the worst things I ever heard in my life. It confirmed to me why those civilizations no longer exist really and have been replaced by Latin America. God's wrath will have its Day. Even for America, should we fail to repent while He perseveres, giving us time to repent (2 Peter 3:9).

The Spanish were right.

Well, the Spanish committed various brutal acts too. Way I see it, you had the brutish Spanish and brutish Natives. No spilt tears over both being defeated.

Kind of like the Middle East Shia/Sunni. Both sides are a couple of nutters. Kind of like the Allah Ackbar boom boom squad.

Modernists like to romanticize ancient Indians, who probably came from Siberia and Mongolia sometime after the Tower of Babel. For years, archeologists have discovered remains of child sacrifice high in the Andes, as well worship of the sun.

Do you remember years ago when the original planet of the ape came our? One of that trilogy had a scene with the humans in a chapel worshipping the bomb. This and its consequences are the gods of the world today. My bomb is bigger than yours! No you cannot have one or two! This god has surfaced because we worship power, greed and the lust for all that is forbidden. Hobbs said, Man lusts after power, after power which ceases only in death. He was right. A hundred or so kids is small potatoes in the shadow of an ICBM because as time goes on our sins go on also and get worse from generation to generation. Almost every christians responds quickly to threats with "well Bomb Them! Jesus needs to taken off the printed page and into our minds which would change our vocabulary and in turn our thinking and our responses. Maybe this is the transformation of our lives the bible is trying effect?

I have said often, "The Father says to his Son, do you not think it is time you return to earth? Jesus replay is, No Father those people dangerous. Tried it once and did not like it. Jesus understands our circumstances and continues to enter the temple on our behalf so we may be conformed to the image of Jesus. A hundred or so ritually murdered kids and we call them savages?

"... In the Aztec culture—unfortunately for the history of the Mexican diet—amaranth also had religious significance. It was a favorite food of Huitzilopochtli, the hummingbird-visaged God of War who, legend had it, led the Aztecs out of the country’s northern wastelands to become lords of central Mexico. Amaranth flowers are bright and sweet; hummingbirds love them. Huitzilopochtli, like all the gods of old Mexico, also loved the taste of human blood. A regular diet of sacrifices sustained him and kept the world from falling into darkness.

Every year during Huitzilopochtli’s sacred month, which corresponds roughly with December, Aztec families built little statues of the god in their homes out of puffed amaranth and honey. According to some accounts, they also included blood from human sacrifices. At the end of the month, the statue was carved up and eaten. The people would take the god into them, like Catholics with the host.

To arriving Spanish priests, the practice looked like intolerable paganism. And while not every Mexican used amaranth this way, the Spanish took no chances. Everywhere they went in Mexico, the Spanish tried to eradicate worship of the old gods. Because the amaranth service seemed like a demon mass—and because the Spanish god preferred wheat—the priests did everything possible to end the cultivation and consumption of amaranth....."
