15 Regular Things The Bible Bans But We Still Do

CTB, you amaze me. You call yourself a Baptist, yet post links to things that are anti-Bible, and anti-Bible Christian. At the very best, you stupidly posted something without reading it. In the middle ground, you read it without comprehending it. At the worst, your purposely undermining the Bible and Christianity.
Which one is it? Stupidity, the inability to comprehend, or an anti Christian covert operative?

Which of the items stated are not in the Bible.
I must have stepped on about 8 of your toes. You do know that when you have no argument, are uncomfortable, or have no rational rebuttal then you stoop to insults.
What is is that upsets you that the Bible does not approve of?
Premarital sex?
Tattoos?
The foods mentioned?
Divorce?
Buzz haircuts or trimming of beards?
or any of the others listed?

The article severely misunderstands the context of Scripture (ignores the context and meaning of some commands, ignores the nature of the Law, ignores the New Testament, etc). But I can understand how they arrive at that error (if it is intended to be a serous article). That said, I count five of those things listed that are forbidden yet still seem to be embraced or normal in the lives of some churches/ Christians.
The article shows exactly why Christians need to stop taking their direction from culture. We need to stop being like the world and using the standards of the world. We need to be holy for God is holy.

Premarital sex
Tattoos (Leviticus 19:28)
"Good food" (fat) (Leviticus 3:17)
Divorce in any circumstance (1 Corinthians 7:10-11)
Buzzed haircuts and beard trimming (Leviticus 19:27)
Working on the weekend (Exodus 31:14-15)
Wearing fabric blends (Leviticus 19:19)
Gossipping (Leviticus 19:16)
Women talking in church (1 Corinthians 14:34)
American football/pig flesh (Leviticus 11:7-8)
Hiring a psychic (Leviticus 19:31)
Consuming bacon (Leviticus 11:4)
Getting remarried (Mark 10:11-12)
Homosexuality (Leviticus 18:22)
Women dressing provocatively (1 Timothy 2:9)
Consuming seafood (Leviticus 10:11)
Ripping your clothing (Leviticus 10:6)
Women wearing jewelry (1 Timothy 2:9)

Consuming meat with fat or blood in it (I think this was already covered above?) (Leviticus 3:17)
So... We can see that the majority of these things were commands given to a particular people group during a particular time in their history and were part of their law. Other things we see as common sense wrong (Really? Dressing provocatively and gossiping are now good things??) "Divorce in any circumstances" - they certainly didn't read the passage.
These are all honestly really stupid and just people looking to nitpick and people who obviously have never read the Bible. It's like saying that God wants us to kill everyone because He told the Israelites to go into a land and kill everyone. Context is king.

Wow. You turned me calling you out on posting an anti-Bible article into being upset about the rules in the Bible? That's rich. I've got no problem with what's in the Bible. I have a problem with someone saying things like premarital sex was only banned for power.

Because that was not God's design from the beginning nor is it a model of Christ and the church.
Troy, what's your purpose in posting this and your arguments in later posts? It seems to me it must be to justify a person's "interpretation" of scripture which allows same-gender relations or premarital relations by comparison to prohibitions against shellfish, women speaking in the church, et al, whether these ideas are your own or not. Before any further, is this analysis correct?

ed. Hold it. I fo rgot for a moment this guy does include the dietary rules, and I don't follow them; so I 'violate' them... because of NT passages which make it clear that is not required. Same thing with the sabbath, if that's in there.

So you have not checked them all. No wonder your replies are such nonsense. Check all of the bans and you will find a number you violate and there is no scripture negating them.
No I didn't check all this idiot stuff of yours. But there is no question whatsoever that Christians are not required to abide by the dietary laws. I you don't like ham, shove it down your throat without tasting it.
