In the Bible it means mind-altering drugs used in idol worship and used in witchcraft ceremonies.
You're jumping to wrong conclusions.
So you say...
These be thy gods, O America (pointing at the AMA)

It is?
"Dying ain't much of a livin'."
I could care less, I speak English.
But, I used to look up words in Strongs, and it said that, so yes.
Interestingly, a study of the word "pharmakeia" led me to see that it was never translated into any language as "medicine".
In French, it becomes the word that translated into English is "poison".
I looked into the medicinal practices of the Greeks, and found the philosophy that birthed modern medicine: "Let food be your medicine, let medicine be your food".
I also found that there was another prevailing philosophy, that of Rome...burn, cut, poison...which was considered witchcraft, or more specifically, "scorcery".
As Rome subjugated the Orthodox "Christian" world, the homeopathic Hippocratical ways of medicine were abondoned to the superstitions of RCC and the Dark Ages fell.
Today, the 1st world nations have once again split, into 2 factions, and the U.S. Gov.sides with Romish Sorcery, with extreme prejudice.
I have 8 children and a wife, that have never seen a doctor, and they are rarely ever sick, and recover quickly. I, on the other hand, was immunized regularly, and really hammered, when I enlisted in 1990. I am very susceptible to the common cold, often ending up with pneumonia.
Sorceries...you take this shot, because people die from this disease...mind control...give people poison to "heal" them, and warn them of the "dangers" of natural ways...yup, Sorcery is the right word.
What a hokey article.
It’s a variation of the prosperity gospel.
The article is a scare piece meant to push you to believe things are bad and getting worse.
The author seems to encourage you to stop taking your medications and just believe - use your money to buy their book instead of your medications, things will be better.
Sure there are a lot of prescription medications (call them drugs if you want).
The cracking of the human genome has opened the door for researchers to develop new ways to treat our ills. The result is an explosion of new specialty medications. And that’s not a bad thing if you are the one that needs the medication.
1) The author uses the phrase, “legal mind-altering drugs”. The term “mind-altering” connotes psychedelic euphoria and senselessness.
That’s not the way most of those medications work.
2) As the population ages, depression becomes more common.
3) No one can deny that these medications are over-prescribed.

I think most doctors push pills rather than alternative medicine solutions. We need to have our doctors more aware of the benefits of nutrition and natural cures. Also, I'm not aware that depression is a function of age. Maybe it is.
when dealing with living, breathing humans, the most logical thing to do is use the most gentle, natural preventions and healers first, right?
... that isn't primarily intended to be abused, addictive, carcinogenic, or a paranoia producing hallucinogenic. :thumbsup:No, the most logical thing is to use something that is scientifically proven to work.
My point in my post was that they are not only over-used, but far less would be required if we had less nasty stuff going into our bodies to start with, via our food, liquids, and water.
Are you disagreeing, and if so, where do you believe I am wrong?
... that isn't primarily intended to be abused, addictive, carcinogenic, or a paranoia producing hallucinogenic.
No, the most logical thing is to use something that is scientifically proven to work.
This earth was created without prescription drugs. Humans were given the knowledge of how to use plants for healing. '
You may argue all you wish, but prescription drugs are vastly over-used. There are better choices in so many situations.
I do not have the resources to conduct independent studies on how poisons poison you and why they're bad. I'm just not stupid and know that they do.
Given knowledge? More like developed knowledge. Unless you think alternative medicine is a gift from God?
More people die in America every year from prescription drug abuse than die from heroin and cocaine combined. That stunning finding comes in a new report Tuesday from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The CDC found a fourfold increase in deaths from prescription narcotics over the past decade. Not surprisingly, it coincides with a fourfold increase in the number of prescriptions written for the powerful painkillers.
She, Poncho and a few others have "drank the Kool-Aid" -- debate with them is kind of like fighting the Borgs: "Resistance is fu-tile." :BangHead:Given knowledge? More like developed knowledge. Unless you think alternative medicine is a gift from God?
I've admitted overuse, twice in this thread.
Wow.
Again, it's not alternative medicine, and yes, it is a gift from our Creator.
When humans were created, they were created with knowledge. What was given was good, and to be used for nourishment and for healing.
Doubtful, since he's not. What are you going to say when God asks you why your promoted poison and claimed He gave it to us for our "benefit"? You're getting more extreme by the day.One day you'll stand and answer for mocking creation.
If you voted for Romney you voted for Monsanto. Monsanto is destroying God's creation (Frankenfood) and polluting the earth with it's chemicals. So actually you're the one promoting poison.
You should run for office you'd make a great politician the way you turn everything people say around to mean the opposite of what they actually said.
He does seem to be claiming that what God has created is an "alternative" to what man has created.
