I remember being glued to the TV set when all that was going down. Nothing that I had ever seen on TV stirred me as much as that.

Me too Roy! We were sent home from school as the only television was in the priests house which was too small for the entire school lol.

Me and my brothers walked home and watched it AND did not have to go back to school that day!!!!!

I refuse to beleive it has been 35 years ;) . It was just as amazing now on my computer screen as it was that Sunday evening so long ago!

I first I couldn't figure out why the previous poster was going to school on a Sunday in July. Then I remembered where the poster lives - it was Monday there and July is the middle of the school year

The moon landing and JFK assassination were probably the two most memorable events of my childhood.

The gas station at the corner was giving away paper models of the lunar landing module. We got several of them and had a great time putting them together. What a collectors item they would be now....I'm sure they ended up in the trash shortly thereafter.

There are some incredible newly released photographs at the Apollo Archive. http://www.apolloarchive.com/

I also did not know there were DVDs released of raw moon footage. The price was a little steep, so I put them on the list to rent at Netflix.

I was born in March 1970, so I missed all that stuff, and it would be awesome to just watch it once. If it turns out to be as awesome as I think it will be, I might ask for some of them as Christmas presents one year.

Circuitrider and I had stopped in the desert out on the Utah/Nevada border on our way to Lucerne Conference Grounds in California. Listened to the radio and laid on the roof our the Chevy wagon and looked at the moon.

Didn't see the steps.
