2 Thessalonians 2:3 - apostasia: "falling away" (KJV) or "departure"?

Acts 21:21. 'But they have been informed about you that you teach all the Jews who are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses.'
This wasn't what Paul was actually teaching!

I know, I said that...

Paul wasn't teaching men that they should "forsake" Moses, or become "apostate" in regards to the Law...

It was what the Jewish Christians had been told he was teaching.

Agreed. They misunderstood Paul's teaching which made it clear that by the Law no flesh would be justified, which was contrary to the view these First Century Jews had of the Law.

And we can see this in the Jews the Epistle to the Hebrews is written. I tend to believe that Paul wrote this anonymously because he knew that there would be those who would erroneously interpret the vital information he is giving them as being irreverent of the Covenant of Law and associated services.

God bless.
