What was once very common belief by the most well known of Theologians is now being turned away from for fables and "new beliefs"

1I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

2Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.

3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

4And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Isn't this so true for our day. We are definitely seeing the Apostatcy of the church today.

The fianl stage of apostacy as seen in the Laodicean church,

Revelation 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

God is spewing out many churches and those that leave the first love of the truth He will spew them out. They can't grow they can't see the truth and they definitely think they are doing just fine. The end of the age when Christ returns and we are rewarded in heaven as 1 Corinthians 3 shows will show the wood, hat and stubble they are reaping with the turning from the truth.

Does your doctrinal belief let you know when to apply only the verses that apply to the church today and which only applied to the people written too. I notice astericktom contributes the 1 Thessalonian 4 pasage to include the Thessalonicans saying the "we who are alive and Remain" applies to them so as to say they too would be taken when Christ came and some of them would be alive at His coming.

I notice that a lot folks pick and choose what applies today and what applies bakc then so how do you determine when it only fits to them and to them and us?

Actually, ALL 7 Churches spiritual states are found in the Church throughout History from time of revelation forward...

BUT

Believe that the Church will be lukewarm and effected by various heresays in last days, just as predicted...

And that it WILL be getting worse for false teachers/doctrines in last days, right before second Coming of jesus, as the Church will become Apostasied in Last days to a great extent per prophesy!
