Isn't this idea of millennial exclusion akin to the investigative judgment of the Seventh day Adventists?

Lacy Evans: "5. In Mark 9:38, John is speaking. When the Lord answers him, who does the "thy" (second person singular) refer to in Mark 9:43?
    "

    Mar 9:43 (KJV1611 Edition):
And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: It is better for thee
to enter into life maimed, then hauing two hands,
to goe into hell, into the fire that neuer shall be quenched:

"Thy" refers to those whose hand offends them.
IMHO "thy" refers to a person who is lost. Saved folk
shouldn't have hands that offend them.

    That's bad English.

"Thy" refers to John directly. How could "cutting off a hand" (even figuratively) help a non-believer? An unbeliever needs to get saved by believing on Christ. (John 3:16) John already "belongs" to Christ and it is to him (and indierctly at us) that this warning is directed to.

"Saved folks shouldn't have hands that offend them!" That is exactly right because God the Father is faithful to chasten!

Not really. I am not an expert on cults, but I have never been accused of being a seventh day adventist. A few people have asked me if I was a Jehova's Witness though. Just try talking to someone about the kingdom and see if you don't get a look ;)

We are OSAS easy believers, in so far as anyone who believes on the Lord Jesus Christ will be raised up on the last day, just as He promised. I believe the SDA's would teach a works salvation, while we certainly believe that Jesus paid the price for our sins, and only Jesus paid the price for our sins. We will absolutely be raised up on the last day because of what He did, regardless of what we ever do, good or bad.

This sounds great but it isn't really true. God does still punish sins, even though those sins may have been forgiven in an eternal sense.
    1 Corinthians 11:29-30
29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.

This is God punishing the Corinthian believers for not observing the Lord's supper in a worthy manner. They are forgiven eternally by the blood, but they are subject to the chastening of the Father just as any child of God is.

Hebrews 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

You would not tell God that He could not chasten you because your sins are forgiven. Mind, I'm talking about sins after you get born again, which I'm sure we all know about. Jesus said that He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins IF we confess them to Him. But it is not hard to fall into sin, and when we do, the chastening will come if we do not repent of it.

I'm sure you would not disagree with me so far, OldRegular. Most people would say this is true, but that once you die, no way can God chastise you. All we are saying is 'why not?' It seems that God has plainly warned us several times that not only can He, but He will. First, we have the promise that whatever we sow we will reap.

    Galatians 6:7-8
7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

If a man has not reaped that which he has sown in this life, he will reap it in the next, whether it is good or bad. We all know we will reap the good things, but Jesus says we will also reap the bad and we can't just ignore this fact. We will be rewarded for our works, whether they be good or bad. God is not mocked.

Second, there are numerous warnings to the disciples of being cast into Hell.

Mat 10:5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:
Mat 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

He is still talking to His 12 disciples in verse 28. We have no right to say this command does not apply to us today.

Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

We need to fear God the way Jesus commanded us to. Jesus said we could be punished for sin after death, and that should motivate us to want to live holy if nothing else will. But He also gave us glorious promises that we would reign with Him if we would be faithful to the end. Combine this with His vast love for us, that He would die on the cross so He could have us with Him for all eternity, and we should be ashamed not to be living for Him. We have no excuse now, and there won't be any excuse at the judgment seat.
