The division winner last year went 83-79. The Cardinals barely made it over .500 and you argue that it's a strong division? A division where 4 teams have a legitimate chance of winning it doesn't make a strong divison, but, instead, a very competitive one, which is a different thing.

You know a division is weak when the Cubs have a better than decent chance to win it.

I am curious how the Cardinals improved this offseason. I live in die hard Cardinal country and the majority of Cardinal fans I know are disappointed that the Cardinals did not do much this offseason to really try to build on their team following a Championship. They lost 3/5's of their starting rotation from last year, how can you improve by doing that?

Didn't they lose Marquis in addition to Suppan and Weaver? Losing those guys sounds like an improvement to me.

I really hate to agree with a cubbies fan, but I am worried about the starting rotation. Of course it really dosen't matter cause the CARDINALS WILL THE WORLD SERIES, and the cubbies will be in the basement.

    GO CARDINALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO CARDINALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    GO CARDINALS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cards will have to fight just to make the playoffs this year. Thes Reds will give them a run for their money again and I think the Cubs will be much improved with a good manager instiling some confidence again. After all thats all we need in Detroit.

Even though the Cards may have won last years series, the most talent in in the AL. Paticularly the AL Central. Give me the Tigers, White Sox, Twins, and Indians over any team in the NL any day! Oh and the Royals have do good when it comes to inter-leauge play so I guess I could take them to.

    Go Tigers!!!:applause:

I'll say it again: I think my Reds have a good chance if the bullpen situation stabilizes. The Cards were almost had last year, and I can't see them being better this year - quite the opposite.

Agreed. The Cards are overrated. They just happened to have some good breaks at just the right time.

I hope that the umpires are better this year. I am getting kind of tired of inconsistent calls at the plate. :BangHead:

Whats the difference between a Cub fan and a Red fan?

Cub fans know their team stinks.

    This is true.

Yet when it has been almost 20 years since a title, is there really too much room to brag? :wavey:

I'm worried about Mark Prior, even though I'm not a Cubs fan. Wood, Prior, Zambrano, I root for those guys, I really like seeing them pitch. Prior is struggling with his control, and his velocity has fallen from consistent mid 90's to barely topping 85.

I like the Cubs young leftys though, they have a couple of guys that are like 6'7".

The Cubs have a lot of good young fireballers. I remember 5 or 6 years ago they led the league in strikeouts as a staff. Hope they have a good season, but that the Braves have a better one. :D

    Soli Deo Gloria,
    Dustin

Getting Ted Lilly wasn't a bad thing either.
