47.9%: Obama Had Lower Average Approval Rating Than Nixon or Bush

President Barack Obama had an average approval rating of 47.9 percent during his time in office, according to the Gallup poll.

That puts him behind Richard Nixon, who resigned, and George W. Bush, who saw his approval rating drop as low as 25 percent near the end of his term.

It puts him ahead of only Gerald Ford (47.2 percent), Jimmy Carter (45.5 percent) and Harry Truman (45.4 percent).

Why is anyone still citing polls? Did they all forget already how pathetically wrong the polls were last November? I now totally ignore all polls just as I ignore the "sky is falling" because of the national debt.

Totally? Not quite.

The title drew you in. You didn't ignore it at all, and it was clearly about polls.

Using the "average" polling information is a hilarious attempt at cherry picking because it quite deliberately excludes information that demonstrates the ability for one to improve himself. The only reason this is being posted is because people can't stand that Obama went out with a pretty favorable approval rating. Like I said, this is obvious.

Results for this Gallup poll are based on telephone interviews conducted Oct. 20, 2016-Jan. 19, 2017, on the Gallup U.S. Daily survey, with a random sample of 42,122 adults, aged 18 and older, living in all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia.

Poll Taker: "OK, Mr. Smith, remember back in August of 2011? To help you remember that was the time when the US debt ceiling was not raised and the credit rating of the United States was downgraded. What was your approval rating of Mr. Obama at that time?"

"OK, now how about May of 2011? That was the month that Osama bin Laden was killed. What was your approval rating of Obama at that time?"

"Now we're going to move to September of 2014. That's when videos of ISIS beheading people was in the news. And what was your rating of Obama? Mr. Smith?"

Wow, awesome poll!
