I haven't written that. I've even said that Arkansas could win but have also given REASONS why I don't think they will. Ken's stock answer doesn't irritate me all that much. It just proves that he doesn't have anything of substance to respond with... a tacit admission that what I am writing is true.

If UT plays its A game and Arkansas plays its A game then UT wins. They're a better team. However, the Auburn/Arkansas and UF/LSU games as well as innumerable others prove that the best team doesn't always win. Sometimes a good team can beat a better team by getting the breaks, catching them at the right time, or by just playing over their heads. Sometimes a better team just doesn't match up well against a team that they technically should beat.

In my last HS football game about 100 years ago, we lost 7-6 in the state semi-finals. I ran into one of their players later in college. He said that their coach had told them before the game that he couldn't give them a reason why they should win and that they had to play over their heads to have a chance. They played over their heads and beat us. That's the nature of sports and especially football.

That said, UT should still beat Arkansas. They are a better, more talented, better coached team.

Well, this UA winning streak really won't matter a whole lot during the afternoon of 11/24 when i'm sitting down to a nice sandwich made from leftover turkey and watching my beloved Bayou Bengals march into Little Rock for little boucherie! Geaux Tigers!!!

I hate Michigan, so I hope OSU beats the daylights out of them. Whichever team wins that game (assuming a running of the table), they're in Glendale on Jan. 8. That brings up a whole other convo about the Big 10/11 not having a championship and getting a 12th team for divisional play.

Lots of people are talking about this so-called one-loss SEC team that may be shafted. We're assuming someone from the SEC is going to survive with only one loss :)

If LSU figures itself out, watch out Ark and Tenn. They play both on the road, though.

What bothers me the most is the assumption by some non-southerners that Auburn is going to win the SEC West without even bringing up the possibility that Arkansas might win it.

Is Auburn a strong team? Yes. Do they have a serious chance to win the West? Yes. But they aren't in the driver's seat. Arkansas has to lose twice for a one-loss Auburn to make it to the SEC title game. This is a possibility, but I think it is fair to consider that Arkansas might very well make it to the SEC game. Winning out, IMO, is a long shot, but it's not unreasonable to think that Arkansas might only lose one SEC game.

I don't think Ark should beat UT... but I don't think they can beat LSU.

Tom is right. If LSU ever figures itself out... no one in the country can beat them.

I don't have any affection for OSU or Michigan. But, judging from what I've seen of both teams, I think Michigan will beat OSU. The matchups favor them. Michigan's D can slow OSU's offense. OSU's defense will have alot of problems with UM's O especially if Manningham is back.

Ken, I love you man. I really do.

Your opinions on virtually every other thing I've seen you discuss here have been well-reasoned though occasionally I've disagreed with them.

Your last post is pretty accurate. When given the facts, you want to close your eyes and go to sleep. Arkansas has the talent to beat UT- not as much talent yet but enough. They shouldn't but they could.

Arkansas is no where near as talented as LSU. No one in the conference with the possible exception of UF is. The only way I see Arkansas beating them is if LSU has a meltdown similar to the UF game.

BTW, I think UT is in about the same position with LSU as Ark is with UT. They have enough talent to beat them but not as much. If LSU plays its best football, UT shouldn't beat them. The good news for both of us is that LSU seldom plays 4 qtrs of its best football under Miles and have shown a definite tendency to have meltdowns under pressure.
