Does your church need an alternative to Microsoft PowerPoint?

Note: It's been my personal experience that PowerPoint doesn't play well with other presentation programs. So if you choose to use any of these, I take no responsibility if your slides don't format properly at whatever church/auditorium/venue you choose to use them in.

Libre, Zoho, and Google are the main culprits in this. Any of the programs that allow you to keep and show your presentations from the internet are an option, as you wouldn't run into any compatibility issues -- your only limiting factor is the internet connection required.

We use ProPresenter for all of our projection needs but we sometimes have a speaker come in with a PowerPoint so we have the program so we can run the presentation.

The first one on their list is awesome. I've used OpenOffice which has now been rebranded as LibreOffice for well over a decade now. It is a complete Office Suite of programs, open source and started by Sun Microsystems. It is cross platform, works on Linux, Mac, and Windows machines (and a few other lesser known OSes). It also can import all Microsoft Office documents and save as Microsoft Office formats (in addition to its native format and multiple other formats). The best part for churches is that it is FREE. They do accept donations and they have saved me gobs of money over the years, so I send them a little donation now and again.

I've used OpenOffice which has now been rebranded as LibreOffice for well over a decade now.

LIbraOffice is fork of OpenOffice, not a rebrand. OpenOffice is still exists and is still developed (but, I don't know who's using it).

Don't know who's using it. It changed to Apache OpenOffice. Last update, according to their website, was in 2015.
