I am a little surprised that this has gone unmentioned here (unless I have missed it).

IRANIAN PASTOR FACES EXECUTION TODAY

When asked to “repent” by the Judges, Youcef stated, “Repent means to return. What should I return to? To the blasphemy that I had before my faith in Christ?” The judges replied, “To the religion of your ancestors, Islam.” To which he replied, “I cannot.”

I saw this yesterday and pray for him and his family as well as the men who are carrying out this misjustice. Unfortunately, this is not the first time this has happened nor will it be the last. Islam is not a religion of peace as so many are under the false belief that it is. It's a horrid religion. An evil one.

I've yet to see a place this century where someone was executed by Christian authorities for being in their religion.

We live in tremendous times of persecution across the world.

So true. We in the USA seem to over look the persecution of Christians in other parts of the world. Praying for Youcef and his family as well as other Christians in Iran as well as the rest of the world. Islam is the religion that seems to be in the forefront of the persecution of Christians in the world today.

As an update for a subject that actually matters (not this tripe people are accusing others of in the general discussion forum)

Iran pastor guilty of being a 'Zionist, traitor': official
http://www.iranian.com/main/news/2011/09/30/iran-pastor-guilty-being-zionist-traitor-official

TEHRAN — Iranian pastor Yusef Nadarkhani should face the death penalty for being a traitorous "Zionist" and committing "security crimes," not for apostasy, an official said Friday according to Fars news agency, amid a Western outcry over his sentence.
Nadarkhani's lawyer told AFP that the remarks by Gholam-Ali Rezvani, deputy governor general of the northern province of Gilan, where the pastor's case is being reheard, were the first time security offences had been mentioned.

So basically they're shifting the accusation from apostasy for being a Christian to saying he is a spy and traitor.

I can't imagine there is any evidence (does that matter?) at this point. Clearly Iran and the radical Islamists running that country want to murder this peaceful Christian pastor.

We live amongst martyrs. May we pray he finds courage, fortitude, and grace in the midst of his agony and persecution. May he be comforted as Stephen before Saul.
