I like consolidation. I actually like the Army museums we have, but at the same time these are very rarely visited.

When my son was young I'd take him to these museums a lot when my wife went to the commissary. We were always the only ones there. They rarely get visitors.

Yes, the Army will say a lot of money closing museums. Even more money could be said if the Navy, Air Force, etc. would do likewise with some of theirs.

The article stated that at one base - a non-profit organization will take over ; sounds like a good Ideal!

Maybe consolidate by region, so 3-4 bases could have one museum/heritage center.
