A Land of Immigrants

I felt sure you would be accused of being a white supremacist or racist after your remarks about "white people" and indeed you were.

Then again you perhaps are not "white people".

Of course you have the right of free speech to express those ideas about "white people" , at least today 8/28/2017.

HankD
OK, thanks for clearing that up. I think people need to learn that racism is racial hatred for no other reason than racial heritage. Noting differences between races is not racism. And stating the truth is not racism. Favoring your own racial heritage over others is not racist. I like being white. If I could choose any race to be it would be white. I wish everyone could be white, because I like being white so much.

But that's not racism. Everywhere I go, I'm glad I'm white. I like having white neighbors, and a white town. But that's not racist. I'm allowed to live where I choose, with whom I choose, and to like whomever I choose. I like hanging around with white people, because I feel safe around them.

But that's not racist. I'm permitted to feel safe around anyone I choose! Racism is wishing harm or doing harm to another simply because of his racial heritage. I just think rather than bashing white people, ethnic minorities should be thanking them. Without white people, everyone else would still be plowing land with oxen, washing laundry by hand, killing game with a bow and arrow, dying of infection, beating the evil spirits out of mentally ill people, and so forth.

The world has greatly benefited from white people. And there is much more white people will do for the world of the future. I just think white people deserve at least one day per year when everyone can thank a white person for all the great things white people have given to humanity.

Conversely, on that same day, any ethnic minority person can walk up to any white person and say, "I hate this nation's constitution. I hate white people. I hate the USA. I hate the police and the military. I wish I didn't even live here!"

And that white person will purchase a one-way plane ticket so the ethnic minority can go back where he came from. But that's still not racism. It's charity!

Well, I don't see why it is considered to be so bad to have a sub-replacement fertility rate, except that it hurts the welfare state but mass immigration really won't help there if the immigrants are the recipients of the welfare state. Japan sure doesn't think they're the answer.

No, the Japanese are as racist as Americans, maybe more so. Japan is facing a real crisis economically because it doesn't have enough labor to support its export-driven economy. You can look it up.

The US colonized the land, ran the native people off and established European culture here - that is NOT immigration, that is colonization.

Pretty much. And ...

And that plaque on the Statue of Liberty comes from a socialist poet and was slapped on there by her friends years after it was in the harbor.

Ooh. Socialist. Must be bad, Can't possibly be true, then.

About colonization, Spaniards mixed with the natives in Mexico - cultural relativism is not the opposite of cultural superiority - define "superior". Some cultures are more advanced than others, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are "better" in every regard.

I suggest you study Mexican sociology a bit. The upper class of Mexico is largely of "unmixed" blood, Penisulares. Those of "mixed blood" are far down on the list, but above the natives. You can read some books or just watch a novella, whose main characters are always Spaniards and whose villains are Mestizos.

Some cultures are more advanced than others, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are "better" in every regard.
I think there is a misunderstanding of ethnicity and culture. Ethnicity pertains to genetic code. Culture pertains to way of life.

I think Americans have the best way of life, because we have Christianity and the US Constitution. I wish everyone, everywhere had those things. And i think it is the plan of Satan to use racial prejudice disguised as religious belief to incite Arab terrorists to exterminate white people.

I think we should put an end to Islamic terrorism now!

But what if he came from the United States? Most of them do, you know.

You are a hot mess of illogic.

Man, I am going to be honest with you. I thank white people for bringing me Christianity, but I owe you no thanks for anything else. I don't thank you for taking our land. I don't thank you for massacreing my ancestors. I don't thank you for violating every treaty you ever signed. I don't thank you for the welfare system that is designed to keep the poor in poverty.
Having said that, I love white people. My wife is white. One of my grandfathers was white. Thats how I have an English last name. Don't tell me how great and wonderful you are for me. Telling me you have made my life better is as proposterious as telling a black man that enslaving his ancestors made his life better. It is honestly a stupid thing to say. There may be elements of truth to the statement, but the statement in its totality is nothing but an extremely hurtful lie.

I am blunt about race and racial issues. I fall outside the boundaries of politically correct, but you are a piece of work. Are you a racist? The definition of racism is "the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races." You decide!

Reading your posts I am transported back to the 5th grade. When it came time for history lessons my teacher sounded like you, made the same claims and had all the statistics and facts.

Now this was in the Boston Public School System and she was never challenged.
Of course in the 5th grade no student (at least in my class ever challenged her).

We sang America the Beautiful (and other patriotic songs and even hymns on occasion) and had a time of silent prayer.

I had a man for my 6th grade teacher and he was the same and in some ways even more so.

I did get an inkling into my 5th grade teacher's persona though.

One day a friend of mine and I played hookey. The cops caught us and brought us to the school.
My 5th grade teacher looked at us and said to my friend
"Are you a ****** (his family Anglo-Saxon name)?"
"Yes" he replied.
"Then why are you hanging around with trash like this"?
I have a very Italian last name (though I have a Jewish mother - I don't think my teacher knew that).

In my memory It's still like it happened yesterday.

My friend never talked to me again.

I believe all people have the right to life. But I also believe the world would be better if everyone adopted Western European culture, especially Christianity and the US Constitution.

The Amish are Western Europeans.

I fully agree. But what does that have to do with this discussion thread?

Slavery in the US was to ransom black-African prisoners of war from death. The rival tribes in Africa are still constantly at war. In the past, slave merchants were able to ransom the lives of the conquered tribes. But to perpetuate the practice required economic stimulus. So, the slaves were sold. Otherwise, they would have been left to die.

There are those who would have it that no African-American exist today, and that in the past conquered tribes would have been slaughtered as they are today. If it wasn't for slavery, African Americans wouldn't exist. They're ancestors would have been slaughtered as prisoners of war. So, if anyone cares about African Americans, they can thank slavery for their existence.

Hitler lost his father when he was 13. It was particularly painful to him when he lost his mother who was under the care of a Jewish physician at the time. Hitler reasoned like this:

It was so painful for me to lose my mother.
I would like others to be spared this agony.
My mother died in the care of a Jewish doctor.
If there were no Jews, no ones mother would die under the care of Jewish doctor.
Therefore, the way to prevent others from the suffering what I endured is genocide.

I'm a Christian, so I wouldn't have thought of genocide as the way to utopia. But that was the flaw with Hitler. He didn't observe Christ's doctrine of forgiveness. And that leads to sin. Sin leads to death.

Would you please be more specific. I think you're overly sensitive. And, I have proof to back up my statement that other cultures are trying to exterminate whites. Islamic terrorists kill almost exclusively whites. I'm not racist at all. I just tell it like it is. But perhaps I have too much faith in others to put the pieces together.

In any event, if something I said offended you, please accept my apology. I hope to avoid doing so in the future. But if you don't like the truth, you won't like what I write. You can call it racist rants, but you're not correct. See my signature.
Islam is not trying to exterminate whites. They are trying to exterminate Christians and Jews. They also seek to exterminate Western Civilization. In the process of doing the aforementioned, they kill an awful lot of themselves.

So you're a white supremacist. Got it.

The Amish are Western Europeans.

Yes, I chose them to show you your error. The Amish "keep people enslaved to superstitious nonsense, promote inequality and injustice, impede technological advancement, keep the people oppressed and ignorant, and promote false truths." Plus they're white and they're Christian. Just goes to show how wrong you are about white culture being superior for the reasons you list.

I fully agree. But what does that have to do with this discussion thread?

God pays no mind to skin color. His love is not skin deep. He is no respecter of persons. But you are. You make it a creed and brag about it. This is wrong.

Slavery in the US was to ransom black-African prisoners of war from death.

Slavery was to liberate prisoners of tribal wars? Oh puh-leeze. You know what? You're not as smart as you think you are.

Sure. Sure. Slavery was the white man's way of saving the blacks. Where do you come up with this tripe?

Hitler lost his father when he was 13. It was particularly painful to him when he lost his mother who was under the care of a Jewish physician at the time. Hitler reasoned like this:

Making stuff up about Hitler now? Please post a link to the citation you quoted about Hitler's mother and the Jewish doctor. History records that Dr. Edward Bloch was so moved by Adolph's grief over his mother's passing that he significantly reduced his medical bills. In response Adolph Hitler said, "I shall be grateful to you forever."

Islamic terrorists kill almost exclusively whites.
Wrong. They kill far, far more Muslims than whites. Islamic terrorists kill more Muslims than any race or religion.

I'm not racist at all. I just tell it like it is.

So you're a troll. Understood.

Rsr, I do know a couple of Castillian Mexicans, they are pure white descendants from Old World Spain. And. yes, they do control the country, all the ruling class there looks like them.

Sunni on Shia is the most common form on Islamic murder IIRC and Muslims are comprised of all three races, like Christians are. They STILL practice slavery, America did not invent the concept.

The Statue of Liberty was supposed to be a beacon of liberty and freedom. Ellis Island was within view of it, immigrants would see it right when they came here and were being processed. This idea of the USA being a dumping ground for everyone in the world is new, back then many were rejected outright and about half of them gave up and went back after a few years. The poem is just on some plaque, not inscribed.

Japan will probably go to robots and humanoids, seriously, to adapt. Feminism (working women) + contraception, including abortion, are to blame for the bad birth rates.

No loss there, Hank - he might have been eleven years old but he was no friend. And the teacher was a total snob and a bigot and the real trash in all of this.

I don't acknowledge name-calling as intelligent debate.

At least industrialized civilization is available if the Amish so choose to use it.

God pays no mind to skin color. His love is not skin deep. He is no respecter of persons.
I completely agree! Every human life is a priceless treasure, unique unto itself; and precious in God's sight.

But you are. You make it a creed and brag about it. This is wrong.
I'd like to know if you are reading that in my prose, or if it's an assumption on your part.

Slavery was to liberate prisoners of tribal wars? Oh puh-leeze. You know what? You're not as smart as you think you are.
I'm not smart. Relative to other humans I might be slightly smarter. But in the grand scheme of everything, for all I've learned in this life, I might as well know nothing.

Sure. Sure. Slavery was the white man's way of saving the blacks. Where do you come up with this tripe?
Again, no substance. This is not as rational debate on your part. If you can prove me wrong, do it.

Ynetnews Jewish Scene - 'Hitler blamed Jewish doctor for mother's death'

Wrong. They kill far, far more Muslims than whites. Islamic terrorists kill more Muslims than any race or religion.
I stand corrected. In the west they kill mostly whites.

I'm glad you were honest. I think of the European colonization of America as a military conquest in which the colonists were victorious.

I hope you can find forgiveness at some point. War is always bad, but it's an unfortunate part of life; part of man's fallen nature. Slavery made the lives of African Americans possible. Given that life is better than no life at all, their ancestors' slavery did make their lives better. Otherwise, they wouldn't have lived at all. It may be hurtful to African Americans, but it will also help them to obtain justice. Gratitude is the beginning of humility. Humility is the strong fortress of wisdom. Pride comes before a fall.

History is rife with injustice. But hanging on to it in a personal way is destructive. It's called "collecting injustices". It's a psychological problem. I'm part German. The Roman's kept German slaves. But that doesn't bother me. I still am thankful for everything the Romans added to the world!

I have my life, and nothing in the past is going to fuel any excuses for me! All of my siblings died early. I could blame God for taking my brothers and sisters away! But what would that do but make me feel worse. Truth is always hurtful to someone. But it helps more people than it hurts. I'm not an unfeeling person. I believe each life is as precious as any other. I still think it's wrong for people to bash white people, especially after what they've added to the world.

Begrudging the past won't make anyone's life better. But industrialized civilization has too many benefits to count. Still, if my words stung you, I apologize. I'll try to avoid that in the future. Jesus said, "Truth will set you free!"

And I might add that it was definitely morally wrong that American Indians and some slaves were mistreated and/or murdered.

I wanted to get a reply in on this post before the end of the night, because I was touched by it.

I may have sounded like your teacher. It's a terrible thing what you're friend did to you. It's called "betrayal". You trusted you're friend to stick by you, but he violated that trust. Use that experience to empathize with Jesus' betrayal. You know what it's like. God wants to teach us what it's like to be Himself! We become like God by uniting our experiences with his suffering. I don't like suffering, but good can come out of it.

I'm grateful to God for every experience I've had, because through them I found Him. If things would have been different, I might not have found God.

People say immigration is part of what the USA stands for. When the US was building its population, it needed immigrant workers. But it doesn't need immigrants now. The United States has plenty of people. But the Bible says to be kind to foreigners.

In biblical times foreigners were slaves. They were forbidden in any Synagogue. They could not be merchants or landowners, nor could they hold positions in government.

By "be kind", it was meant, don't be extra cruel to them just because they're foreigners. It did not mean, let all foreigners in, educate their children, give them health care, let them commit as much crime as they will, and adopt their language on all public postings.

The US doesn't need more people. If immigrants want to come here, it should cost them a lot of money, because US citizenship is valuable! And the last thing we need is nine million uneducated, disease-ridden, wife-beating alcoholics as new citizens! And believe me, I know of what I speak. There are several cops in my family.

There is no compelling reason, except the lies we learned in grade school, that the US should allow immigration for free! The Roman Empire once allowed anyone to immigrate. But that changed around the time of Christ. After that the Romans charged huge sums for citizenship.

But it is worthy of note that practically any single supermodel or hot-looking actress can obtain US citizenship, no questions asked.
A neighbor of mine and his family came here from Brazil. He works as a cybersecurity expert for a large American company. We aren't producing enough of those in America. We do need immigrants especially those with needed skills.

Awesome, your ethnicity posts are indeed factual.

My 5th grade teacher made sure she documented everything she said about the European outstanding accomplishments.

I was puzzled because she lauded the Italian nation for the birth of the Renaissance of the arts and sciences.

Later I realized why I was "trash" in her eyes - I came from a sector of Boston renown for MAFIA activity and in fact my family was no stranger to these activities with restaurants and a candy store as front entities (although the restaurants are now - today - big money makers and the corporation has a life of its own).

Personally my "OHOH" was for what I perceived as a lack of wisdom on your part in your presentation.

While Europe indeed has given the world the tools/toys of the arts and sciences you mentioned it has also given the world some of the greatest horror shows and inhumanities to fellow man (both white and of color) that would make the devil envious.

Crusades, Inquisitions, both World Wars, holocaust, nuclear destruction of fission, fusion, etc, etc...

The human race is one blood.

Acts 17:26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

I remember seeing a cartoon/picture of a sinking longboat in which those in the stern were bailing water while those in the bow were saying - "what's the problem? our end on the boat is not sinking".

When you get in a hole, quit digging. I have forgiven. You wanted me to thank you for the injustices against the Native Americans. Forgiving and thanking you are worlds apart.
