A Mockery of Marriage

(A scene at City Hall in San Francisco )

"Next."

"Good morning. We want to apply for a marriage license."

"Names?"

"Tim and Jim Jones."

"Jones? Are you related? I see a resemblance."

"Yes, we're brothers."

"Brothers? You can't get married."

"Why not? Aren't you giving marriage licenses to same gender couples?"

"Yes, thousands. But we haven't had any siblings. That's incest!"

"Incest?"

"No, we are not gay."

"Not gay? Then why do you want to get married?"

"For the financial benefits, of course. And we do love each other. Besides, we don't have any other prospects."

"But we're issuing marriage licenses to gay and lesbian couples who've been denied equal protection under the law. If you are not gay, you can get married to a woman."

"Wait a minute. A gay man has the same right to marry a woman as I have. But just because I'm straight doesn't mean I want to marry a woman. I want to marry Jim."

"And I want to marry Tim, Are you going to discriminate against us just because we are not gay?"

"All right, all right. I'll give you your license. Next."

"Hi. We are here to get married."

"Names?"

"John Smith, Jane James, Robert Green, and June Johnson."

"Who wants to marry whom?"

"We all want to marry each other."

"But there are four of you!"

"That's right. You see, we're all bisexual. I love Jane and Robert, Jane loves me and June, June loves Robert and Jane, and Robert loves June and me. All of us getting married together is the only way that we can express our sexual preferences in a marital relationship."

"But we've only been granting licenses to gay and lesbian couples."

"So you're discriminating against bisexuals!"

"No, it's just that, well, the traditional idea of marriage is that it's just for couples."

"Since when are you standing on tradition?"

"Well, I mean, you have to draw the line somewhere."

"Who says? There's no logical reason to limit marriage to couples. The more the better. Besides, we demand our rights! The mayor says the constitution guarantees equal protection under the law. Give us a marriage license!"

"All right, all right. Next."

"Hello, I'd like a marriage license."

"In what names?"

"David Deets."

"And the other man?"

"That's all. I want to marry myself."

"Marry yourself? What do you mean?"

"Well, my psychiatrist says I have a dual personality, so I want to marry the two together. Maybe I can file a joint income-tax return."

"That does it! I quit!! You people are making a mockery of marriage!!"

I guess for born again Baptists, we know where it will all end...the lake of fire for the unsaved and deliverance from this present evil world for the believer.

Knowing what we do about the coming of the Lord should drive us to choose purity...."and every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure."

These are issues that have come up since about the 70's. It has steadily rose to be what we are dealing with today. What will it be in the next 30-40 yrs?
Thanks -----Bart

Unfortunately our country that was founded by Christian men is no longer run by Christian men. This is not a slam on Prez Bush...I am actually enjoying the fact that we have a Prez that isn't involved in numerous sex scandals!

Now I wanna marry my computer. Yes I know I'm already married, but my wife is a human, and my computer is a machine, so it wouldn't be polygamy to marry the computer.

Then I want to marry myself, yes a man marrying a man, auto-philic, but I'm not gay, even though I am in love with a man, the man who I am, that is, myself.

If I love myself, why can't I marry myself, and make it legal and official? If a man loves a man, even though it is himself, does that make him gay, even though he has zero attraction to any other man, even though he is monogamous in his attachment to himself? Deep moral dilemmas.

Trying to make Dr. Bob laff so hard like he make vaspers laff and lagg and lollygag around too much.

Seriously, coming around the bend will be humans marrying non-humans, and living humans marrying non-living humans, and real humans marrying imaginary humans (Popeye, Mr. Goodwrench, The Man in the Mirror, The Man in the Moon, Santa Claus, Batman, Benny Hinn, etc.)

What about people who want to marry their pets? Pets are always nice & are never mean, they never ask for much, food, maybe a walk or grooming now & then, maybe a litter box. All those supplies add up! A person should be able to marry their pets if they want to and count them off as tax deductions.

And if vaspers marries himself, he should get a double deduction for himself. :D

People with multiple personalities should get multiple tax deductions, too.

Jbot marries self, March 2004. Divorce lawyers rejoice.

Matter of fact, could divorce lawyers be behind this whole queer marriage thing? Since the average homo has 320+ sexual partners, who's thinking that "monogamy" with a San Francisco marriage license is going to lead to PERMANENT marriage.

Sick.

Check out France. This is already the case. If you're engaged and your soon-to-be dies, you can legally still marry.
