A Palin Divorce and what are the ramifications for the Republicans?

If you consider the biggest anti-God movement in the history of the US to be "fond memories" then I really have to shake my head.

You don't think there is a divorce?

I don't think we should determine her political future based on one article. First we need verification the story is true. Then we owe it to her to understand the circumstances if it is true.

I know the article says affairs on both sides but I am slow to buy that story from a fellow Christian. I may not agree with her politics but I do believe she's saved.

There was more to it than that. I was a teenager; we weren't involved in being "anti-God." We just enjoyed the music and the attention.

I doubt it, it will most likely be Romney, but if she were to actually get divorced she would be done. And it would explain her stepping down as Governor.

Not really Rev, if Todd was unfaithful then the Bible says she has sufficient reason to divorce.

7 They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?
8 He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.
9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

Sooner of later people need to realize that the Republicans will not save us. The country needs to turn to Jesus Christ, honor Him, repent of our many terrible sins, and try to be a country that follows His teachings. If we will turn to God He will heal our land. We won't, thus we are on a fast track to utter destruction. Meanwhile people are too busy playing partisan politics to notice or care, including many well meaning Christians. Wake up people!

AMEN...

The music was ungodly. It was an all out rebellion against God and living godly. It was about using drugs, committing rampant fornication, and despising the leaders whom God ordained. That movement was all about the New Age movement, which denies the plain teaching of scripture on many points and is the spirit of antichrist.

To enjoy something that is so thoroughly against God saddens me. We that love God should love the things He loves and hate the things He hates. Do you think God loved the hippie movement?

I am waiting until I see someone report this that I consider a credible source. So far I have not seen one. So far is seems to be rumor.

What would the ramifications be?

It would kill her chances of being the next GOP presidential candidate.

It would reliever the GOP leaders of the problem of a loose cannon on deck.

It will make a some of her admirers sad and others mad.

Did God love the hippie movement's swinger-lifestyle/booze-soaked/rat-pack-worshipping/tobacco-hazed/racist-xenophobe predecessor more?

Sin rises and falls with the tides of time, but motivating every --every-- generation is the failed attempt to rebuild Babel.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm.......... my Bible reads the same way.

Does this word "fornication" have several meanings? A married spouse who is unfaithful after the wedding vows..... commits ADULTRY, not 'fornication'. This says NOTHING about adultry and divorce.....unless the word 'fornication' has a double meaning.

Fornication.... used to mean having unlawful carnal knowledge with no vows involved: Hence two people, espouse to each other as 'virgins' having taken their vows and coming together, it is discovered that one is not virginal and has lied to the other..... then they are allowed to divorce at that point. If, however, there is acceptance by the defrauded partner at this point or for a while..... he/she loses the right to protest later, based upon this discovery, and get a divorce.

Jesus purpose was that all who take the vows of marriage.... would take the vows seriously before considering their match..... and take their vows seriously, with the resolve to make it work, any way possible. But many people take these vows before men.... and don't think twice that someone bigger is witness........ and if they contirue to trust him..... he will give the believe the power to live and keep his vows with integrity regardless of the foolish straying which a partner may bring. Originally, the law of Moses did not provide for adultry and a spouse to live once accused, charged, and convicted in the presence of witnesses. This had its own way of disciplining those who strayed after marriage.... and freeing the spouse to marry again. The example set was a lesson to all that the vows taken before the Lord were lifetime. The judgement of death for a adulterous spouse was considered a judgement of God and not man.... although man participated in the charge and had to bring honest witnesses.
=========================
This talk about the Palins.... is just gossip at this point.

But another thing disturbing on this board is the intellectual dishonesty of its members in equating any and every possible moral failure within the ranks of a party as hyprocracy for those within the party who stand for family values.

I'm not Republican..... but I don't accept this stupid logic. It is a bullying, childishly juvenile tactic of ridicule and name calling to distract from real issues and serves no purpose..... for truth or for glory..... and should we, as Christians, have any other cause? Doesn't even the church receive sinners?
Does salvation wipe away the historic memory of people who knew them before they were saved? And, doesn't the Bible have real examples of people who knew the Lord but who had moral failure, but were restored to fellowship after coming to repentance for their behavior.

The hypocrites are more in the people who judge without knowledge.... and who judge without mercy. Can't a body..... such as the church...... take a moral stand...... and yet have a way of receiving those who have suffered failure but have returned..... with out being considered as hypocritical..... then why can't any body of people? Isn't it far better to maintain its moral position or does receiveing those who fail require lowering the standard.

It is funny........ of all the parties..... It seems that the Republican party is noted more than any other for 'family values'...... and of all the parties..... the others don't show that they care a whit about their candidates morality.... but Republicans are so embarassed by their own failure that they frequently resign from office....for their personal moral failure...... and these Jack..........es want to brey and brey and call 'em hypocrits..... Well...... back on ya!

No, but I think it's undeniable that the hippie movement was a greater rebellion against God than that one was. Regardless, God hates both, therefore we shoudl hate both. We should not take pleasure in unrighteousness.

What silliness. Others in the party fail so the whole party must be silent? Did you really think about that before you posted?
Lots of divorced christians, some of them are on this board, many who claim it is acceptable to divorce. It hasn't made any difference to them. Some who will shout family values the loudest are supporting a baby murderer as president, and approve killing our old people becasue they cost too much.

Palin is just another in a long line of republican hypocrites.

At least Republicans recognize that there are hypocrites. The democrat party is devoid of any morals so that hypocrites cannot exist in that party.

The democrat party is the party of unlimited abortion, euthanasia, homosexual marriage, and whatever perversion can enter the mind of reprobate mankind.
