So God is a bigamist. I knew the Mormons believed that but then Mormons are heretics?

And the Holy Spirit got left out in the cold! What nonsense!

Of course, some of you don't believe in this verse and will say it applies only to the OT Israel and is not relevent for today...

So America can merrily go on her way kicking God out of the public square, murdering the unborn, condoning sodomy, and a host of other wickedness and abominations and it doesn't matter to God?

Excellent point. I certainly believe that He has been judging us for some time. We as a Church, and also as a society, just don't see that yet.

That is not a Biblical principle in existence today. It is dispensational nonsense. </font>
There you go again, Ken. Making unlearned statements based on your own misguided understandings of truth. I'd be careful of these things if I were you. Well most of us on here fear little, don't we.

If he'd just trust the investors I did 10 years ago he could be poor like me. ;)

Seriously folks, I have been rich since God saved me 41 years ago. Perhaps some of you understand. I hope so.

Oh, I forgot about the argument that it doesn't apply to America. Thanks for the reminder.

So America can merrily go on her way kicking God out of the public square, murdering the unborn, condoning sodomy, and a host of other wickedness and abominations and it doesn't matter to God?
</font>
LE, I often agree with you but I would have to say
1. America (the US, that is) is not a Christian theocracy and the majority are not born again. We are now getting more pluralistic and I think that will continue.
2. Personally, my view is that God's judgment comes at the end of the age. That is what the Day of Judgment is about. I do not think God is punishing now. He is just letting us reap the consequences of our actions (as a nation).

Fine, Marcia. In that case, everything that happens to us as a Nation - Blessings or Catastrophe - happens by chance or coincidence. God really has no active part. Okay. No point in praying for our Nation, then, because God doesn't care until the End of the Age. Got it.

Jeremiah Chapter 18 shows that God blesses nations that heed Him, and judges nations that don't. He is actively judging us.

We're commanded to pray for our rulers in at least 2 places in the NT, so we should pray for our nation and its leaders just because of that.

I never said we should't. I was talking about seeing the US as a Christian nation, which it isn't. It can't repent because it's secular. Only individuals can repent. The US is not Israel.

Sarcastic, maybe. Cynical, maybe. Skeptical, maybe...but I never intend to be malicious, so put your mind at ease. [IMG] You should know that by now, Old Regular. You can go back to counting your stacks of money, now, but don't put it all under your mattress, LOL. :D ;) [IMG]
