A Response to our President's Moral Leadership

the KKK, Nazis, the folks that are responsible for this rally, they're the ones that are 100 percent responsible for it. That doesn't excuse premeditated lawlessness from anybody, from anyone.

Actually, that's exactly what it's doing. Saying that someone has 100% of the responsibility means that the others are excused completely.

I feel like I'm sill revving up big time, but I'll stop unless you would prefer that I go to his statement and criticize it piece by piece. Something I am willing to do.
That would be nice. I would like for you to point out what he said that was wrong. I missed it myself. All I can find is true statements.

OK, here is the transcript of the press briefing:

Transcript of Trump's contentious Aug. 15 press conference

After reading it all the way through on paper, I must say that he does a typically undiplomatic job and that's about it until he says:

TRUMP: Excuse me. If you take a look at some of the groups, and you see -- and you'd know it if you were honest reporters, which in many cases you're not -- but many of those people were there to protest the taking down of the statue of Robert E. Lee.

So this week it's Robert E. Lee. I noticed that Stonewall Jackson is coming down. I wonder, is it George Washington next week? And is it Thomas Jefferson the week after? You know, you really do have to ask yourself, where does it stop?

But they were there to protest -- excuse me, if you take a look, the night before they were there to protest the taking down of the statue of Robert E. Lee.

Infrastructure question. Go ahead.

As of that point on in the transcript, president Trump feels very solidly to be un-diplomatic (the sins of Rehoboam and Nabal). He doesn't throw gasoline on the fire, but it certainly feels like his words from that point on are rash and careless. On top of this they are unsympathetic to black people and other minorities who are sad and scared.

This was a moment, especially now that a terrorist attack has happened to redirect news coverage, for the country to have a very pastoral moment and the president failed to be a good Christian leader who speaks truth in a wise way that unites people and beckons unbelievers to Jesus (important for any Christian leader) while maintaining respect in the eyes of unbelievers (something the bible tells us all to do).

The bible indicates in Proverbs that wise leadership is based, among many other things, on well thought out words that have been counseled by many counselors and are like wise sayings. This is true of any leader, but especially of a Christian who is a leader. Also, President Trump has said before that Americans who are suffering need their president to show up and provide caring leadership (a wonderful idea), but he failed to go to Charlottesville or at least attend our spiritual sister's funeral.

I mean this just feels way off from what I would expect Jesus to expect from me if I was somehow in President Trump's place.

Please don't misinterpret this, I am not a Democrat, I am not a Republican either. I am not social liberal, I hate the murder of the unborn, and want a thoroughly biblical society, and what anti-fa did was wrong, It's just that you guys may have noticed I base every action and belief on the bible as much as I can and I call it how it is given a literal reading of God's Word. Being unwise ("foolish" - though not stupid in any respect as that is "simple") in any way shape or form is a sin. A particularly poor sin for leaders to have given the history recorded by 1 Samuel through 2 Kings.

Your expectations of him are way off base. He is not our pastor and he cannot attend every day funerals. He does tend to be rash in his use of words but nothing there was inappropriate.

As the bible repeatedly warns us to do, I expect Christians to avoid sin or at least be repentant after they make the wrong choice. Unfortunately, President Trump sins and never seems to admit his errors and apologize and seek to walk more like Jesus.

When I look to a righteous, godly king, I look to David. He is the man who seems most righteous in the bible who actually gets a kingdom on earth. I ask myself in politics, "what would David do?" I feel President Trump at least leads with his sense of justice, but it seems like he does a poor job compared to David, a man far beneath any saint in Jesus Christ according to the bible.

President Trump is not a pastor, but sometimes the leader of a nation as was the case with Jehoshaphat or Hezekiah or Josiah must give a nation spiritual leadership in dark times. Presidents visit disaster areas and the site of terrorist attacks and do attend funerals when it sends a strong message to the country. This is part of our history.

What sins are you talking about?

Your words ring hollow when compared to your slobbering over the Zero!!

Was Obama faithful to his wife?

How man divorces did Obama have?

Did Obama brag about grabbing women?

Did Obama stiff workers salaries?

Was Obama associated with the Mafia?

Trump is very fat, a glutton. Was Obama?

The list could go on and on.

What comes to mind most often is foolishness as defined by Proverbs:

What Does the Bible Say About Fool?

Also, there is a failure to try and live up to the Sermon on the Mount's moral teachings in what I can only describe as "in manifest ways."

(Matthew 5) (Matthew 6)

The president seems to not realize that anger, name-calling, mocking, divorce, and lust, among others, are all very wrong.

So me specifically where Obama's sins are greater than Trump's. Otherwise you are only showing your bias. Please answer my questions.

I must say though that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are no better morally than President Trump. Their support for social liberalism and mainline Christianity show s this. We sorely lack the kind of elected leaders at the top we need in America.

I said NOTHING about either POTUS' morality -- NOTHING!!!
I simply showed YOUR bias in YOUR statement!
As i said, "Your words ring hollow when compared to your slobbering over the Zero!!",
and nothing you have so gleefully posted negates this observation.
Now you are free to post as many comparisons as you feel needed to allow you to feel victorious; I'm through!!!!

Trump has done nothing morally wrong in office. Is telling the truth now morally wrong? I know Bill Clinton and B.H.Obama rarely told the truth, but lets not hold being honest against Trump.

I'll go into generalities: the comments were rude, callous, and unsympathetic to the loved ones of the Christian woman, spiritual sister

You wouldn't have anything good to say about the man even if he come up with a cure for cancer....period.
