A Second Lockdown?

The Gloom-and-Doomers(“Doomers) are moving up their predicted second wave from next fall/winter to June and predicting that the nation, or at least significant portions of it, will have to experience a second lockdown.

Do you think most Americans would as willingly participate in a second lockdown as they did the one we are just coming out of?

MI had/still has a religious exemption.

The “lock-down” was ended for economical reasons not because it was safe, so don’t let your head swell too much. I think as a nation we are currently better prepared to slow the spread, provide medical care, test, quarantine, contract trace, etc. and have bought ourselves some valuable time to develop treatments and a vaccine. That is not say we are out of danger and beyond having to take drastic measures at times to keep this under control. There is no doubt a much greater chance of catching the virus today that there was when social distancing was first implemented if people get careless. Any American that does not take this virus seriously and take any necessary precautions to protect others based on hyper partisan dares is a fool or worse! End of story...

Actually we are in worse shape than before. Our hospitals are on lockdown also and sit almost empty and are refusing people treatment unless they have the virus almost. We have had another quantitative easing already as Obama called the massive printing of money with a second massive spending bill now being debated in Washington DC to take care of not the sick and the unemployed but to fund the Democrat Party program based upon their control of the US House of Representatives and many governorships throughout the country. Once again we are being told that the depression state of the economy prevents inflation and that turning the printing presses on will have little effect on us other than pushing the national debt higher.

Our nursing homes are unable to cope but flaws in Medicare and Medicaid have required that seniors be removed from nearly empty hospitals after a couple of days and sent to nursing homes even though they are very infectious. Those who want Medicare for all or socialized medicine should look at this bankrupt system and see that there are de facto death panels in place and no one Democrat has stood for the ending of this evil practice of Medicare and Medicaid.

Assuming that the Democrats are right that there will be a second wave immediately, then we have wasted all this time and have been unable to supply N95 masks to our population. This is a serious flaw in American industrial production since this virus will be around forever. We have done nothing to protect our population except to quarantine the healthy.

We have seen the unprofessionalism of our pharmacists and the medical tyranny of some governors who think that they know more about infectious diseases than worldwide experts such as Dr. Didier Raoult of France, whom President Trump should award our highest civilian honor for a foreign citizen.

One would like to think that the shameless Democrats would pay a political price for eating $100 a gallon ice cream while people suffered but the Democrats never seem to face any consequences for their actions as their base is robotic.

What we have really seen this year in the USA is that in a presidential election year, even scientific medical decisions will be made by our very ignorant politicians to protect their careers no matter how many common people die.

We are not all in this together. The upper classes and the politically powerful have a low rate of infection while the deaths have been amongst the very elderly and the very poor who are in this alone.

I went to the hospital twice in the last two months and was not turned away. At least in Florida phase 1 is underway, phase 2 is on the horizon, hospitals have plenty of capacity and are not turning people away.

I think she has lost touch with the people and basically gave the "let them eat cake" tour in her house...
