The Unpardonable Sin is not to say or think a "word against the Son of Man" but rather to blasphemy the Spirit.
To think or say that Jesus was empowered by an unclean spirit, rather than by God is to reject the One God had sent. People debate just what we must believe to be saved by God's grace, from nothing by those advocating unconditional election, to just about all the "right things" by those thinking our understanding of biblical teachings is essential.
However, that is not the primary focus of this thread. Rather it is the content of our forgivable thoughts and statements against the Son of Man. Can I say, with C.S Lewis, Jesus was either a Lunatic, Liar, or Lord? Can I say nothing good comes from Nazareth? Can I say His earthly family did not accept His claims? Where would I cross the line?
See Matthew 12:31-32, Mark 3:28-30 and Luke 12:10.
