He refers to the coming great apostasy and revealing of the Antichrist figure, beast, false prophet and the end of days, which is also accompanied by a strong delusion come from God so that the people believe the LIE because they do not love the truth to be saved. We have that mass departing from churches and Christianity today, which is part of the coming great apostasy. They depart from the faith to give heed to demonic doctrines.
I tend to agree with him, and I am not catholic.
I have made the association before and gotten accused of grossly twisting the scriptures, but the accuser has no ground to stand on, just their opinion.

More commentary, and he too believes we are living those times.
I personally believe we are in the beginning stages of the great apostasy of the church.
Beginning because scripture tells us how bad the end gets, and we are not there yet.
I like how he brings out that the tares in the church are planted by the enemy, the devil and it is they who are apostatizing, not those who are planted by the Lord and are the wheat, the harvest, the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

In the end time judgements, many times it says a third of mankind is killed by the plagues. That would be a diminishing third of mankind perhaps for every plague where that is said. Till the end, desolations are decreed.

He described the protests and the COVID-19 restrictions and lockdowns as a Biblical struggle between light and dark, urging President Trump to fight against the deep state in the United States, which included responding to the protests.[119] Viganò alleged that the protests were organized by now President Joe Biden who embodies the deep state goals.[120]
