John 3:16-18
The non-elect are condemned because they don't believe? According to Calvinism, theose that believe are already regenerated, and are thus not condemned, either temporally or logically before they have believed. Thus the reason for the condemnation of the non-elect is not lack of belief, but lack of regeneration. Otherwise, faith is the reason the elect are not condemned, but according to Calvinism, that can't be because according to Calvinism, faith is a work.
16 For God so loved the world (the elect) that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever (whichever of the elect) believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world (the elect), but that the world (the elect) through Him might be saved. 18 He who believes in Him (any of the elect) is not condemned; but he who does not believe (any of the non-elect) is condemned already, because he (that non-elect person) has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
