Acceptable Dictionaries for Academic Research Papers

I have learned the basic guidelines for "acceptable" commentaries, but what is "acceptable" for dictionaries for an undergraduate paper for students that have not yet completed first year Greek?

Basically any references sources that would include dead sea scrolls forward!

I have those, too...but I cannot remember off-hand what they are called....they're all out in my garage in a moving crate getting ready to be shipped to Augusta, GA

Bible dictionaries or Greek works?

I was asking specifically about dictionaries, but I am thrilled to listen to any discussions about any resources that are specifically allowed or not allowed to be used as sources in undergraduate papers at a Bible college or first year papers at a seminary. I have studied a bit of Greek in the past, but I have forgotten most of it.

I am interested to know anything that I might need to know after I know more Greek, but I might not understand some things yet.

At my community college, I found it critical to ask the same questions to multiple professors, and not rely entirely on the person grading my paper. I needed context to weigh what the grading professor was saying to me. If a professor was screaming for a detail that was NOT a general expectation, or if he didn't care at all about a detail that generally expected, I found it helpful and sometimes essential to know the full context.

Thank you Yeshua 1 and AVL1984 for answering.

Think dictionaries and encyclopedia allows more then strictly lexicons and word reference works, as those will need to be updated to later and newer references!
