Law enforcement officers converge on Berean Baptist Christian School
"Winnebago County Deputy Chief Dominic Barcellona said officers from the Illinois State Police, Illinois Conservation Police, Illinois Secretary of State Police, as well as officers from Rockford, Roscoe, Rockton, Loves Park, Cherry Valley, Durand and Pecatonica responded after authorities received a report of an armed suspect in the school."
"Police were called just before 3 p.m. Tuesday by someone in the school parking lot who thought a man carrying a gun was entering the school in the 5600 block of Safford Road. The call was made shortly before the school of 200-plus students were to be let out for the day....'Our school has been secured by the Rockford law enforcement agencies'...the school wrote on its Facebook page. 'There are no reported injuries from any student or staff member. Every student has been accounted for and has been transported to a secure location'."
"Police reviewed surveillance video from the school to confirm it was a woman with an umbrella, and students were never in danger."
