Brilliant!!!

I would add: Not knowing what isn't written to those who don't know what was not written, will never be understood by those who do not know what was to be written when it had been written before. All things are not understood by those who understand what others do not. But, some who do understand what those who do not, also know what those who do not understand do not know.

Outstanding: If I didn't know better, I would have thought I had written that. We understand what we know for we both know what is written to us. It's amazing, but we may be the only two that understand what we are saying. I suggest we have a beer and analyze this further, but another Brother seems to understand however I don't know if he would join us. Maybe a glass of wine would be better -- for our stomach's sake, if not our head.

Hate to cut out again, but have some hedges to trim.

Always mowing the lawn and trimming the hedges right when the fun begins.

BTW, I have a difficult time understanding my last post. You must be a genius. I read it again, and I'm not sure it says what I thought I was saying when I was saying it. Anyhow, I'll take a beer. You buying? Wait til you hear what I have to say after a couple of those.

Make that a Gemini instead of genius.

Regular chores, plus the honey-does, and other activities don't leave too much time here to enjoy such as yourself.

See you are in old Northern Pacific (BNSF) territory. Mighty pretty round those parts.

It's called being baited. We have had many discussions and disagreements about Calvinism vs free will in a gracious manner. This is a slash and burn person, who is not interested in the debate, but to cause dissention for the sake of dissention.

Do we have such a thing happening on this Baptist Board where some would get together to try and slash and burn another poster on here. To do so they could not do it alone. First they would have to have someone or others to join them to be able to overwhelm the other poster and their purpose would be to irritate this person by personal attacks until they became angry enough and actually do this ad hominem argument. Was that the purpose of this thread? not to discuss ad hominem argument, but actuall create it? I think this thread was started for that very purpose for it brought more division and hard feelings on this board than any thread I have seen since I been on BB. Looking back over the thread and studying it I see especially 2 characters who hung together regardless of whether they were right by Scripture or not. ad hominem argument, what a way to progress the cause of Christianity in the name of debate.
Seems to me a person would need forgiveness from God for bringing divisions.

posted by someone;
:) and this friends is called ad hominem. :)

no doctrine here

Also;

Its only self defeating, if I did not accomplish my goal. Am I right? :)

Romans, chapter 16
"17": Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

It is just a question and maybe no one did this but it seems supicious to me, for it was stated "I accomplished my goal, or something close to that". peace:rolleyes:

I had nothing to do with the opening post whatsoever.
I was not "in on it" in anyway but it did seem to point just exactly what it was intended to point up...all the people using those arguments seemed to flock to this thread like they were guilty.

Just my observation.

It did bring in a lot and I was wondering who the first one was, so I went and looked. peace

Yeah, you were the first to actually USE ad hominem in the thread. Others did a little bit later though as I recall.

I think that is part of what this verse is talking about.
Human debate rather than a genuine desire for truth, a desire for victory.
Wonder who you were throwing those slurs at? They were the first. :Fish:

That wasn't a slur at all. It was a verse taken right from scripture.
I can't help who is convicted by a verse of scripture.
It was exactly on topic and I used scripture. I didn't NOT mention any names.

The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.
(Proverbs 28:1)

What ever makes no difference the damage has already been done.

Excellent speech becometh not a fool: much less do lying lips a prince.

As long as we all learned from it rather than getting bitter, then it should be a positive experience. No damage done.

Depends on which end you are on now don't it?

Proverbs, chapter 10
"18": He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.

Well, as for me, I learned a lot from the thread so it is ok for me.
If you failed to learn from it then I am sorry.
You could always read it again.

What did you learn from it if you don't mind except hate?

Oh, and I did learn a lot about who is who and to what extremes they go and who they will follow and continue to praise. Yes I learned a lot. I have seen those in my life time who have followed a leader even all the way to death. Jonestown comes to mind. peace:Fish:

I learned a lot about the subtle things that go on during debate.
I didn't learn much about hate. To be honest, I didn't really think that you hated me, just that you got a bit frustrated as we all did.

I have no idea what this is supposed to mean?
If you are referring to Calvin, I don't even claim to be a "5 pointer" nor have I even read Calvin's works.

But to be honest, I don't remember anyone following a particular man in this thread.

BTW, I do apologize for the times in all threads that I replied in haste and anger. There was no call for that and I am sorry.

We sure don't believe that we are predestined to sinless perfection on this earth!
