I loved the old campy Batman... It was so entertaining and so many stars in different roles of course Adam West as Batman and Burt Ward as Robin and the supporting cast... Then came the VILLANS!..Caesar Romero as The Joker, Frank Gorshin as the Riddler, and Burgess Meredith as The Penguin and of course Julie Newmar as Catwoman and so many more and all the costumes. As Batman progressed on the big screen without Adam West, in Batman after Batman after Batman movie sequals it lost its campy fun flavor... Special effects up the whazoo!... Then there was the first Batmobile and the Batcave... With the passing of Adam West an era has gone:Cry... But never fear cape crusaders, you can relive those moments again on DVD!... And in the immortal words of Robin... Holy Technology Batman:D

Did that clip have "Bringing in the Sheaves" playing in the background?
:Biggrin

Yes, it's in there. That clip is really more symbolic than I thought when I posted it. Adam West had a "bomb" in Batman, and typecasting cost him a lot. His role was the bomb he could never get rid of.

Notice that Cesar Romero kept his trademark mustache even while playing the Joker.

Remember Otto Preminger as Mr. Freeze?

Ah, Batman in the late 60s --those were the days. Another chunk of my early teen life snipped away.

Adam West was remarkable in his own way. And his voice was very distinctive.

Even shark repellant.

I just checked that clip, and Robin had to bring the Shark Repellant Bat Spray down on the Bat Ladder and make like a trapeze artist to hand it to Batman, who sprayed the shark, which fell into the water and exploded. So, we must reluctantly admit that he didn't carry everything in that utility belt.

I prefer Mermaid Man, Barnacle Boy, the invisible boatmobile and the Mermalair. Plus, when Mermaid Man turned his belt to Wumbo, watch out. Plus, they had the 'Orb of Confusion'.
