Affluent Indiana school district censorship attempt

The North West Hendricks School District in Hendricks County, Indiana, an affluent area west of Indianapolis, seeks to censor students and parents on Facebook or other social media. They say that parents shall not "use Facebook or any other Social Network to make rude/offensive comments towards individual staff members or the school in general." It goes on to outlaw the use of "Facebook or any other Social Network to campaign against or fuel outrage against individual staff members, the school, or policies implemented by the school or district." If a parent is in violation of these rules they can be banned from school property and events, according to the policy.

SHUT UP! Indiana School Tries to Silence Parents on Facebook with Draconian Policy

Hendricks County is an affluent area of Indiana with about all elected offices held by the Republican Party for many, many years. Consequently, the GOP elected officials have become more and more aloof to the middle class as they cater exclusively to the wealthy, who probably are not as strident as the elected officials themselves. The school systems are laughable as the teachers are notorious for being lefties. People fight to get on school boards because they get health insurance and money for the few meetings that they attend. The school systems are known for their extravagance and their meddling in politics as the teachers and superintendents try to influence 18 year old students to vote against their parents interests' in favor of the interests of big local government.

Here is a prime example of the GOP acting like leftists in trying to circumvent the God-given rights of human beings.

The people in that school district need vouchers to get away from the repressive district that monitors social media use to deny God-given rights in that exclusive area.

I just returned from visiting my youngest two granddaughters yesterday.
My SIL is a teacher in a very poor school district in Eastern PA.
The district is large in area but poor in population and jobs; about a third of the kids are homeschooled.
He supplements his low salary by coaching.

He confided to me this past weekend that this will be the last year he coaches.
Parents abuse of social media make it a loosing proposition.
Parent complain, grip, and air petty grievances that are shared, liked and spread around.
He says it’s just not worth it to coach anymore.

I understand all that but I don't see that school boards can limit access to government property on the basis of gripes on social media, do you? That should keep the town constables and county sheriffs very busy in a semi-rural areas like the Indiana school district that attracted the national attention of PJ Media.
