I have a conservative mindset, and my IQ {not intending to brag, just make a point} is well above 130. And I am sure that there are many others.

Also, I do listen to talk radio, and did so even before it became such a popular trend.

 

If you watch or listen to “the culture warrior,” then the fact that they filed for chapter 11 doesn’t really make sense. After all, Bill believes that George Soros is bankrolling the network.

Do you listen to AirAmerica? I do (on XM 167 as we don’t have a local affiliate - I record Al Franken as I listen to Rush as long as I can possibly stand), and I have no idea how you have come to the conclusion that these are “their unending themes.” I don’t hear the “hate, hate, hate” that is spewed for “hour after hour.”

Yes, periodically for days on end, sometimes two or three weeks running. All of my opinions issue from my own listening.

My guess is that you have become inured to it. I do, however, understand your only being able to "possibly stand" Rush for a limited time.

Well, do you hear it every other hour? Have you ever listened to Randi Rhodes for five minutes? I will concede that Franken remains civil, but not the pair of jackals who hosted the early morning show (are they still on?), or Mike Malloy -- not even for five minutes.

I wondered about that. I'd tried to find him a time or two recently.

Would that make him any less despicable? For what it's worth, I disagree. Savage rips into things unconsionably and makes outrageous suggestions, but I don't hear him dripping with venom, or with hatred for anyone. Malloy, on the other hand, makes me think of demon possession more than anyone I've ever heard (and that's saying a lot).

Somehow I've missed it. It's been an amazement to me that Air America is so unfunny. Franken made his living on stage and a comedian has to be able to tell what's working and what isn't. AA isn't working and they can't seem to figure it out. Oh, I've laughed at "Oy, Oy, Oy" a few times and the "Abrahamoff" commercial was good, but such relief seemed all too rare in that wasteland of Socialist morbidity.

They all did, but I can't prove it. But it was repeated many times, so I know I didn't imagine it. In fact, I'm incapable of making this stuff up, since environmentalism is a topic I have assiduously avoided. I jokingly suggested that they might be blaming the hurricane on Bush because they incessantly blamed everything on Bush, as though the president were responsible for getting you a job, making your shampoo lather correctly, and controlling the mosquitos. Those people are beside themselves with rage and the world will be a better place when they stop talking, even though I'll lose my favorite source for what the Left is up to.

 

I agree with this SCB. The reason AAmerica is losing is because the public has the right not to tune in, and it is exercising that right vociferously.

Yes, although I am not a big fan of hers. Her show is okay, but I don't think that she is full of hate. She simply makes observations about Bush, many of them are right on target while others are not.

Al Franken - gotta love him. Did you hear that he is headed over to entertain the troops... again?

If you are talking about Mark Maran, he was far and away the funniest guy on the network. Unfortunately, he fell victim to the restructuring. He was laugh-out-loud funny. I would not characterize him as full of hate, or even an angry man. I also loved Lawton Smalls.
If you are referring to Rachel Maddow, then she is on at night. She is not full of hate, and is rather subdued in her program.
The new show on the morning is the Young Turks - I think they came over from Sirius.

Now, Mike Malloy was on record for expressing his hatred of the POTUS. I'll give you that one.

You've gotta be kidding. He hates gays and Muslims. He makes that crystal clear. Even the most casual listener knows this to be true.

Come on, that is a little harsh, don't you think? Demon possession? Do you have first-hand experience with this, or are you referring to the character played by Linda Blair?

What about "DEBUNKED" and his call to the Pottery Barn to clarify their position on "you break it, you bought it." What about "Good Ribbin'" where he gives people that hate him a chance to confront him.... over barbeque? That is usually hilarious. What about "Wait, Wait - don't lie to me" which is usually right on target (the game show with Joe Conason).

Here's a neat game to play when you are listening to Rush Limbaugh: get a stopwatch and see how long into the program it takes for him to mention Bill Clinton. It is usually within the first half-hour. Bill Clinton gets blamed for everything... moreso than Bush. As a matter of fact, Sam Seder doesn't even like Clinton, and refers to him as "Republican Lite" - blaming him for hurting the middle class with NAFTA.

I don't understand this statement. How would the world be a better place? Or should we all simply adopt Rush's or Sean's or the "Culture Warrior's" point of view?

Granted, they can get made about things, but they are not filled with rage. I don't think that this is a fair assessment of AirAmerica.
