Air Conditioner?

Well, I didn't ahve much choice unless I wanted to spend the money for an entirely remodeled duct system. 1 1/2 tons downstairs was all the existing ductwork would support and even then the cold air return had to be enlarged. We are quite comfortable with unit though.

The old units had probably been in place since the house was built in the '85-'87 range (no one seems to know lol). They were dinosaurs, well past retirement age!

this thread has reminded me that I haven't scheduled my yearly mantainence yet. I need to do here soon.

 

Room sized heat pump air conditioners are now being pushed by my local PUD. http://www.lennox.com/products/mini-split-systems/ for example?
