Wrong. 1 Corinthians 11 deals with the Lord's Supper in great detail.

    C. The Rebuke Regarding the Divisions (vv. 20-22)
    1. Invalid Communion (v. 20)
"When ye come together, therefore, into one place, this is not to eat the Lord's supper. "
The factious Corinthian Christians had so corrupted the unity of fellowship that the love feast and Communion had become a mockery. The phrase "this is not to eat" could better be translated as "it is impossible to eat. " They may have thought they were observing the Lord's Supper by breaking some bread, passing a cup, and saying some of Jesus' words, but those actions didn't make up for the spirit in which they conducted Communion. Their divisive and selfish hearts produced a superficial ceremony only.
    2. Insensitive consumption (v. 21)
"In eating everyone taketh before the other his own supper; and one is hungry, and another is drunk. "
Everyone knows that you don't come to a potluck and sit in a corner, eating your own food. But that's what the Corinthians were doing. The rich were gorging themselves and even getting drunk, while the poor had nothing to eat and remained hungry. They defeated the very purpose of the love feast and the Lord's Supper, which was to harmoniously meet the needs of the less fortunate and remember Christ's sacrifice that made them one. In place of the intended unity there was only selfish insensitivity to the needs of others. Clearly the Corinthians were not experiencing true communion with the Lord and among themselves by sharing the cup and the bread with one another (cf. , 1 Corinthians 10:16-17).

Study out the wine that was acceptable in God's sight and that which He condemned. He condemned that wine that deceives... alcoholic wine.

Why would Jesus make a beverage that His Father disapproved of? The answer is obvious... He wouldn't.

What He made at the wedding feast in Cana was not alcoholic in content.

You are correct, and not only wine...the 'best'. Check out Scripture to see which wine is considered the 'best', and not what SFIC says is best...

    Hint: Isaiah 25:6, Luke 5:37-39

There's no need to drink the mocker alcohol.

    Everyone has to eat.

Gluttony only means eating to excess as in causing to vomit. Like the Romans did at their parties.

Alcohol is not the source of the problem, it's merely a catalyst which reveals it.

The source of the problem is an unsanctified Christian walk.

    Bingo!

    BTW:

    Deut 14:25-26
25 Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose:
26 And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household,
    (KJV)

Looks like God is not as concerned with strong drink as SFIC is.

So, I could take this verse and say it's for drugs or buying a prostitute too.
Since it says for whatsoever. :saint:

Alcohol is a stumbling block and it mocks those who drink it.

Even those who have been moderate drinkers have had liver problems.

Inanimate objects are incapable of behavior. Mocking is a behavior. Alcohol is inanimate, therefore it cannot mock.

Your statement above is contrary to Scripture that says "Wine is a mocker..."

I'll believe the Word of God before I will take your word for it when it comes to what alcohol can and cannot, or will or will not do.

That's figurative language describing addiction. I've never heard a glass of wine talk before.

    Proverbs 20:1 (KJV)
Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.

They must be defending pet sins. :saint:

Since you believe God's Word to be true, what about the verses I posted. Usually those of your convictions just skip over these verses as though they don't exist. Why don't you comment on them this time? Surely either you or Scribe can explain them to us.

    Deut 14:25-26
25 Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose:
26 And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household,
    (KJV)

You do know that making false accusations is a sin, right?

    Scribe, SFIC and myself included,

We are being baited. They will never accept the concept of wine as juice of the vine and it was a word not always associated with alcoholic content.
    From Wikipedia;
The word "wine" derives from the Proto-Germanic *winam, an early borrowing from the Latin vinum, "wine" or "(grape) vine", itself derived from the Proto-Indo-European stem *win-o- (cf. Ancient Greek οῖνος - oînos, Aeolic Greek ϝοίνος - woinos)[8][9]. Similar words for wine or grapes are found in the Semitic languages (cf. Arabic ﻭﻳﻦ wayn) and in Georgian (ğvino), and the term is considered an ancient wanderwort.[10]

So let them have their swill and let's leave them as being educated in the nuances of the word, wine.

Your halo is slipping. If you are referring to me in that, I'll have you to know that I don't drink alcohol. I would say on average, not even one beer or wine per year. I don't think it is evil, but it's not anything I ever developed a taste for. So, once again, The Scribe's ignorant personal attacks are laid bare for all to see.

Kind of like when people were poking fun at this scripture? Unless you believe man's words goes before God's words?

    Proverbs 20:1 (KJV)
Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.

Defending sin is a sin. You should know that.

Of course, we are being baited. I thought that was against the rules?

I just don't see how people can say that a fermented drink is fine for a Christian or anyone when it's against scripture and alcohol is the number one killer in the world. It's a deceiver and a mocker.

Alcohol is a mocker. To deny that truth is to deny the very Word of God.Many is the man who has made the statement "I can handle it" who has ended up in jail because of the drink he thought he could handle. Many is the man who started with "just one drink" that lies beneath the grass in cemeteries all across our great continent. Many made poor, many beaten, many homes broken up, many children without food on their table. And all because of the drink that many falsely believe does not mock, does not bite like an adder.
