Do most Baptists believe it is wrong to have an occasional wine or beer?
Could someone be a Baptist pastor and do this?

Most Baptists do not believe it is wrong. However, very few of them will drink in the presence of other Baptists.Do most Baptists believe it is wrong to have an occasional wine or beer?
That would be problematic. Titus 1:7.Could someone be a Baptist pastor and do this?
Well, I've got good news and bad news for you:
The good news, you're about to find out how varied this issue is among Baptists.

Best thing to do is to make a poll

Missions personnel are expected to abstain from the use of alcohol and illegal drugs. They will neither advocate nor condone the use of alcohol as a beverage or the illegal use of drugs, marijuana, or other controlled substances.
When candidates are considered for appointment there must be at least 12 months abstinence prior to appointment.

Yeah, here's the Southern Baptists' North American Mission Board standard for church planters:

Furthermore:
The bible does say, drink a little wine for thy stomach sake and often infirmities but i don't think good stomach medicine was on the market at that time either. I was raised up around a bunch of drunks and i don't know of one that could occasionally have a beer without getting drunk. What is missing in a christians life that he occasionally has to have a nip or two? I have seen drinking husbands beat their wives and neglect their children. This habit of drinking can and will become habit forming as years go by and sooner or later when something goes wrong in your life you will hit the bottle. It seems with a lot of proffessing christians their whole goal of life is to read the bible to see what all they can get away with.Do most Baptists believe it is wrong to have an occasional wine or beer?

Or they have matured enough to know they can drink alcohol without getting drunk. Do you really think a lot of Christians read the bible to see what they can get away with? I have found the old adage to be true: Sin will keep you from the bible, or the bible will keep you from sin.

What would be missing in a Christian's life if they have to have two pieces of pie? It's just because it's yummy. If it's in moderation, it's not an issue.
