Allergic reaction

I was pulling weeds two days ago around the horse barn and apparently I got into something. Over the last two days my hands have swollen up so much I cannot hardly make a fist and I am getting little water blisters that itch real bad.

Any thoughts on home remedies?

Can you take Benadryl? It's over-the-counter. It relieves allergic reactions.

Sounds like you may have gotten hold of some poison ivy or sumac, or their kin.
They have an "oil" that gets on your skin and literally creates havoc.
I've had quite a few bouts with this devilish weed and it is miserable.
I have no idea of any home remedy, unfortunately, but a word of advice ----- try your darndest to refrain from scratching as much as possible, and if you find some of the blisters are there, but NOT itching, don't even think about feeling of them. You do and the itch will blossom like a herd of hornets when you bump their nest.
Don't know zactly what you mean by "things being tight", but if you don't get some RX for relief, you're gonna be one sleepy guy in a few days!

Well, then, do you have oatmeal in the house?

If so, make a paste with equal parts dry oatmeal and warm water. Let it thicken. Take a warm, wet bath cloth, squeezed really hard to get rid of excess water, and smear the oatmeal paste on it. Wrap your hands, I guess one at a time, oatmeal side down, with the bath cloth. 15 or 20 minutes should do. And you can repeat this as often as you need to.

This won't take away the reaction, but the itching should subside greatly.

The best thing would be benadryl - and you can get a generic for just a few dollars. It will help the histamine reaction you're having. Oatmeal will help with any itching but it won't help with the swelling. Otherwise ice packs might help and taking an anti-inflammatory like Advil or Aleve may help as well.

Baking Soda and water has given me some relief.
