NO CHEATING!

Without looking up the answer, please read my statement below and then answer the poll question.

Statement- The word "India" appears only twice in the King James Bible.

Poll question- When I made this statement, was I telling the truth, or was I lying?

Now, you've got my curiosity stirred. What prompted this post? Has somebody challenged you on this? What's the story?

No, nobody has challenged me. But there is a point to this poll.

This is no different than asking you if you believe a News headline is true or not, or asking you if a history book is accurate. For example, was Abraham Lincoln really our 16th President and was he assassinated, or is that story a lie? Or, did we really land on the Moon on July 20,1969? Is that true or not?

So, do you believe I was telling the truth, or do you believe I was telling a lie?

Okay, I'm with Tom Butler on this one. I can't answer it, because even if I didn't agree with your answer, I couldn't say whether you were mistaken or outright lying.

As far as the statement goes - 2 for sure, but do you consider what the ancients called "Cush" to be India? If so, there's more than two. (I think.)

I believe you are wrong. If you were trying to deceive me, that would be a lie, if a mistake, it wouldn't.

OK, I didn't intend to say the country India is mentioned twice in the KJB, I meant "the word" India. It is not a trick, I am not going to count some other name for India as the answer.

And I believe Cush is Ethiopia.

I didn't write the poll answer well, what I really want to know is if people BELIEVE I was telling the truth, or if they BELIEVE I was telling a lie.

I am surprised that everyone is afraid to answer such a simple question.

It's not a simple question. And it's been answered fully: Without knowing whether you intended to deceive or not, no one can answer whether you were lying or just made a mistake.

In all honesty, without knowing which thread this actually started in, and not knowing the full context of the situation, it looks like you started a thread because someone hurt your feelings. Seems to me this could have been handled in the thread where it started, or in a PM with the individual(s) who accused you of lying.

I intentionally gave only two options, either that you believe I was telling the truth, or that I was telling a lie. I already know how many times the word "India" appears in the KJB, or at least I know how many times Strong's Concordance says it appears in the KJB. I guess they could be mistaken, but I doubt it. So, my statement was either the truth, or a deliberate lie, that I am mistaken is not an option. Perhaps I should have given this information in the OP.

I did not start this thread because anyone questioned my honesty. I started this thread to make a point that hopefully some will realize.

I think it is kinda funny how paranoid this thread has made some folks.

Do any believe when posting that they are lying. I would say no. Yet is what is posted, "truth"?

You are certainly being deceptive on this thread. Never thought I'd see a KJVO trying to use deception to prove a point.

The poll question does not have the right answer. The answer depends on the intent of your heart when making the statement.

Where you trying to decieve or offer correct information to the best of your knowledge?
