Amazon has a sales ranking according to how many books have sold in- house . There are other distributers including Christian ones such as Banner Of Truth . Secular sales figures are not the end all . There are other ways to index the popularity of a Christian book . A given book may not do so well on the Amazon scale , but do quite respectably elsewhere .
I thought I would take two gentleman from around the same era and see how they fare against each other only in the restricted Amazon book ranking system . H.A. Ironside lived from 1876-1951 . A.W. Pink lived from 1886-1952 .
Ironside is at the plate . ------- Now A.W. addresses the ball .
Daniel : # 184,754 --------- Sov. of God: # 551,753
Revelation : # 444,840 ------ Exp. of John: # 115,130
1 & 2 Corinthians : # 871,314-- The Attributes Of God: # 219,844
The Daniel and S.O.God pairing is another case in point . I very much doubt that H.A's Daniel has outsold A.W.'s S.O.G. when all sales from all sources are included . ( That would be rather impossible to do BTW ) .
But averaging the Amazon figures , H.A. has a sales ranking for his top books around # 500,000 . A.W.'s is around 296,000 . The nod goes to A.W. in this round .
