American Optimism Over Economy Surging with Trump Presidential Win

Surging homebuilder optimism announced Thursday was yet another measure of Americans’ upbeat feelings about the economy in the wake of Donald Trump’s election as the next President of the United States.
A National Association of Home Builders/Wells Fargo Housing Market Index revealed Thursday that “Builder confidence in the market for newly-built single-family homes” rose to its highest level since July 2005.

This notable rise in builder sentiment is largely attributable to a post-election bounce, as builders are hopeful that President-elect Trump will follow through on his pledge to cut burdensome regulations that are harming small businesses and housing affordability,” said NAHB Chairman Ed Brady.

The Chairman emphasized the importance of this in light of a 29 percent increase in regulatory costs for home building over five years.

I hope he is a positive correction to the past 16 years. Wonder how he addresses Allepo and North Korea and ISIS?

Allepo is Obama's legacy. My fondest hope is he let's it run it's course. It's far too late to do anything about it. I hope he goes after ISIS with all the military force it takes instead of faking it like Obama has been doing. Isis is also an Obama legacy. N. Korea has been totally ignored by the current administration. We'll just have to wait and see.

But getting the economy going is a big deal and it never would have happened in a Clinton administration. The doldrums would have continued.

Let's wait and see. Funny how I get told to stop criticizing Trump and wait and see what happens and here you are asserting he's already got the economy going.

That's a really dumb post. I made no such assertion. I expect better out of you.

Even you expect the economy to improve. At least , you said you did.

Agree. Nobody in the US wants to get involved in more Middle East adventures. There aren't that many good guys over there anyway.

yea just innocent women and children caught in the cross hairs.

And as the civilians are being moved, they are fired on, but we can't get to the enemy because he uses the civilians as shields and we HAVE to avoid ANY colatteral damage . SO!!!! Instead of the "allies" killing the enemy AND some civilians, we choose to ignore any possible civilian deaths while the enemy picks them off at will, with NO response from his targets.
Something just doesn't smell right about this reasoning. ⛈

Not sure why you cannot tell the difference between the two. The wait and see encouragements were based on pure speculation with no evidence currently to prop them up. This rise in consumer confidence is in fact evidence. Not sure why this needs to be explained.

Obama will be going to hell for this one. Of course Barry doesn't see it that way.....maybe he can acknowledge he has blood on his hands (while playing golf in Hawaii.)

You are correct. I misread the story. The headline for the story, "Economy Surging", was clumsily written. I know that is surprising for Brietbart.

Headline lacks clarity--sounds as if the economy is surging, not merely optimism surging that the economy will eventually get going.

Not sure why it says right there "optimism surging" How much clearer can you get.

No, it says "optimism over economy surging." Makes it sound as if the economy is surging making people optimistic.

I am still waiting for the economic collapse that was supposed to leave us all using gold, bartering chickens, and eating from those Alex Jones Survival Seed Packet gardens.
