Suspected unexploded American missile found in Falmouth Docks

A 300m cordon is in place after the discovery of a suspected unexploded WW2 bomb.

Somewhat surprising. Especially as one of my daughters lives in Falmouth.
But what I want to know is how it got there.
Is it a leftover from the War of 1812?
Was it really the Yanks who were bombing us in WW2 and not the Germans?
Or has Trump really got the hump with Britain because we wouldn't join his crazy war with Iran?
