But Ken, do you and I have to disagree on everything to be best buddies??
Well, we don't disagree on everything, do we? Don't we both support the confirmation of ACB to SCOTUS?
my only concern is that 4 years ago several Republicans said they would not make any confirmation in an election year- so they are break a promise.
Personally, I think the nomination should have waited until after noon on January 20, 2021; but since President Trump was determined to make a nomination and the GOP-controlled Senate was determined to confirm his nominee before Election Day, I wanted him to nominate the person I wanted on SCOTUS...and he did so.
The Reps have clearly laid out the case for nominating and confirming before the election. The precedent is rock solid, and the Dems are the very ones who made it procedurally possible.ON a very serious note: my only concern is that 4 years ago several Republicans said they would not make any confirmation in an election year- so they are break a promise. But Trump was not involved in that in 2016 - but I do want to see a good conservative on the high court

“Elections have consequences.” This is the key right here:
I think they have proven the last four years that they are not smart. The smart move will be for them to cut their loses.
