An important theological and moral question about an action.

When I learned my Christian world view, I learned two wrongs do not make a right. I also learned "you shall not kill" actually mean "you shall not murder" because Jesus ate fish. 
Scripture teaches that a pre-born baby is alive with a soul, and so to kill him or her unless to save the life of the mother is murder. (I would call the action to save the life of the mother justifiable homicide.)
I see I missed part of the dilemma. Do humans who die before the age of accountability go to heaven? I would say no, because they were condemned already due to unbelief.

I have voted 'no' but that is a very easy thing for a man to do. We need to have the utmost sympathy for women who are placed in this terrible situation.
Totally agree, and I wouldn't want to add to her situation the guilt of murdering a baby.

So many good arguments as to why this would be morally wrong. Clearly, abortion does not take away the rape. I've read of situations such as when the Russians invaded Germany during WWII, Stalin encouraged his soldiers to "have fun" with the women as revenge of what the Germans had done in Russia. Many of these women committed who became pregnant committed suicide, aborted the babies, or abandoned them. None of that is right, and our hearts go out to them. Despite the situation, we have an obligation to protect the weakest among us.
A woman is raped and becomes pregnant. Should she have an abortion to send the baby to heaven?
Why stop there, according to the logic of the question being asked shouldn't all children (before the age of accountability) be put to death to insure their place in heaven?

Perhaps the biggest problem with this “dilemma” is the theology that leads to it.
I am glad that everyone agreed with me on what to do. Maybe the person I was arguing with was playing devil’s advocate and enjoying the reparte of the argument.
A woman was the one who had the revulsion I did with the concept of this question. Sympathy should not extend to condoning murder.
Voting ‘no’ is not an easy thing for a man to do unless the man divorces himself of the responsibility for the ‘no’.
I agree that theology seems to be sidetracked into exploring what God does as oppose to what we should do.

The thing I think about in this situation is, who would the child have become if allowed to live?. I know anything is possible but if they became someone who would invent a miracle cure for the many diseases we have in the world today it would be a terrible loss. I believe every human being that comes in to this world has a purpose and we are not God and have not the right to decide who lives and dies.
I watched a documentary of an abortion. they showed the process using ultra sound so we could see inside the mother during the process. The baby would move away from the doctors instruments trying to escape the doctors tools. In some abortions the baby is born alive and the doctors purposely kill them.
Abortion is removing God's hand from this country.

I voted no. God is the giver and taker of life. I'll let Him make that decision.
Does God open and close the womb that allows a child to be Conceived, or is it by CHANCE?
I am going to probably stand apart by this post, but here goes.
Assumption that if neither the rapist or victim are believers:
1) It is really none of my business. They are under another authority in which the god of this world is in charge. Should I desire the laws to change, then there are procedural matters to take into account.
2) As such, I consider the abortion "legal" because such is allowed under that which the heathen have established as "rules to live by."
3) This is really not a matter of HOW the pregnancy occurred it is the natural occurrence God designed into the humans to procreate. There is no "victim" or "rapist" concerning the How of the pregnancy. Such fall under other laws of physical assault.
If the victim and or rapist is a believer:
1) Scriptures of the OT need to be followed.
2) There are no particular Scriptures in the NT to follow.
3) However, outside of #1 and 2, there is a no deposit no return policy. Abortion is not the answer.
So, according to the poll, I am one of those who would be assigned as "too chicken to answer." Yet, none of the poll selections would be adequate for the proper choice.
