Thanks for the warm welcome, but no, I am not in the military service. (Except for 2 Tim. 2:3-4 of course).

You I suppose would argue that Jesus is the Author of your faith, but that you are the finisher. Who does that verse say to look to? If God both starts and finishes your faith, explain to me how you can lose something that you are fully convinced is the truth? And what about people that get altzheimer's disease or dementia? Do they lose their salvation because of a lack of faith, or does the Holy Spirit still keep them? Please provide Scripture for your argument.
I have heard people argue that either sin, or rejecting a true saving faith or a lack of works after being saved causes one to lose their salvation. What exactly do you believe could cause you to lose your salvation?
As for the Early Church Fathers; who kept these papers intact and unchanged for all those years? (Hint, it wasn't God)

When did the Greek word aionios cease to mean eternal? Did Jesus give us temporal life? ("have" present tense, "eternal life") And if we sustain our own salvation through works or the keeping of our own faith, then how does 1 Cor. 1:31 stand? You write that you would argue that “the doctrine of eternal security was known and taught by Paul in Scripture, not to mention Jesus Himself,” and you posted several scriptures to support that point of view. The Greek text of these scriptures has been discussed in various threads on this message board and it was found the Greek text of these verses does not support the doctrine of eternal security. Indeed, the fact that the Greek text of these verses does not support the doctrine of eternal security is so very clear that it was not until after the Church had been ravaged by the false doctrines and evil practices of the Roman Catholic Church for a thousand years that it decayed to the point where it became susceptible to the false teaching of eternal security.

Are you saying our works cause our faith, or is it a gift from God as Scripture clearly states? You also write that the true doctrine of salvation by faith alone in the finished work of Christ on the cross was also unknown from the 3rd century to the 16 century. Whether this is true or not depends upon what you mean by the expression “faith alone.” We must not forget the words penned by the brother or our Lord in James 2:14-26,
