BTnGT, as my wife and her family, are EC-B. They were in fact religious refugees in the late '80s. I ministered to the unregistered EC-B emigre community in Sacramento. So, this is more than a little personal to me. As to the examples you cited, the EC-B are persecuted and it's illegal to preach outside the house of prayer (church building).

That is all anyone needs to know about you. FACT!!!

peace to you
It is certainly an important piece to know about me, although I reckon you'd like to use it to blackguard.

Persecution of pederasts, communists, nazis, rapists and more are delights to my soul. This nation needs a good persecuting of these folks.

And it may surprise you that us hillbillies have an edu-macation, some of us even studied to be history teachers, but several states in the U.S had state recognized Religions well after its founding.

I suppose you hate those original 13 states as well because all you need to know about them is that they had state supported religions?

If you knew early American history you would know it was the early baptists that pushed for the “establishment clause” of the first amendment. They believed it was unfair for the states to use their tax dollars to support a “state” church.

Strange, persecution “delights your soul”, when our God tells us He takes no pleasure in the destruction of the wicked.

You should try to be more like Jesus in that regard.

peace to you

I am aware of the Yarovaya Law, and I am not discounting your personal examples. I agree with you that Russia is not Evangelical friendly. Many of our allies are not Evangelical friendly.

So, let's break this down piecemeal with Canada and Saudi Arabia for example vs Russia.
Canada is woke.
Canada jails pastors for preaching against same-sex attraction or providing counseling to them.
Canada jails pastors for preaching during COVID.

Saudi Arabia is Fundamentalist Islamic.
Saudi Arabia jails and kills Christians.

Compare to Russia:
Russia is not woke
Russia is traditionalist and culturally Christian Conservative
Russia jails Evangelical Christians for preaching
Russia protects children from the modern gender confusion

Now can you and I agree AT LEAST that we both have more in common with Russia than Saudi Arabia? I'm not asking you to wave their flag. I'm asking is modern Russia slightly better than Saudi Arabia?

I expect I have more insight to American history than you. My family LIVED it. My ancestors burned down swaths of Massachusetts during the Revolutionary War and explored the Great Lakes in the very early 1600s with Champlain. I KNOW early American history through personal family history passed down orally plus my own personal college studies.

The founders DID NOT believe it was unfair for states to use their tax dollars to support a "state" Church. They believed that the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT should not have a state religion. They were perfectly fine with individual States having their own Churches.

The official state religion of Connecticut was Congregationalism until 1818, well after the Articles of Confederation and well after the Constitution. You will note that this was during the time of the founders that this existed.

And I do quite enjoy persecution of the wicked. I enjoy justice. It is a shame you do not. You should be more like Jesus in this regard.

Ultimately, as a partial Theonomist and Reconstructionist, I'm not all that interested in defending Secularism.

What an utter pile of cowpie.

I’m not sure whether you are a Russian communist troll or just a secularist gaslighter.

One thing certain, you aren’t a “Bible thumpin gun totin” hillbilly.

I’ll leave you to praising communist Russian morality, persecution of certain groups and state funded churches.

peace to you

The Ukraine situation is an issue for Europe to deal with. Ukraine is not a member of NATO. That said, the West can bring Russia to its knees if it enacts crushing trade and economic sanctions. Cut off Putin's money. Unfortunately, Europe lacks the will to do nothing more than spout empty rhetoric.
I actually see Russia bringing Europe to it's knees.
Russia, China, Iran, Syria, Jordan, can put a major squeeze on Europe's ability to not freeze.
The Germans thought the same thing about fighting the partisans during the Great Patriotic War aka WW2.
Well, Germans didn't have Putin. They had a madd man.

I don't see much of a comparison between the two situations. To start with the Ukrainians are a democratic free people and unlike the Afghans are actually willing to fight to the death to stay that way.
The Ukrainians are divided. There is significant segment with Russian loyalty.

I believe most of the Russian loyalist are in their government but the majority of the people are not and that is why the Underground Militia exists.

The fact you have an underground militia who is at odds with the government controlled army, in a country with free elections, is in and of itself prime evidence of strong division.

If you do not believe the Communist party rules Russia with an iron fist, you are truly misguided to say the least.

For you to praise their heavy handed persecution of certain groups and government funding of religion, again, speaks volumes of your misguided worldview.

Do not believe for an instance your “Bible thumpin gun totin” attitude would be tolerated for a second in Russia.

peace to you

You have NO idea what you are talking about. The 'communist party' is no longer 'ruling' Russia, period! When did you stop reading? Please give us the 'source' of your information.

It doesn't sound to me that their "free elections" has served to have good representation of the people, and there is no need of evidence to the division as that was not contested, but the question is if the people were all Russian Loyalist supporting why would Russia need to go in and take it by force?

To assume the people lean toward Russian Loyalty as having some kind of bearing on whether or not to support them under that pretense would compare to suggesting that the USA are Socialist Loyalists because they elected Biden who in truth cheated his way into the presidency while the people are sick of him already and only a small minority would want to our country to be taken over by Socialists.

I am not making a moral judgment on Ukraine. I am pointing out that the country is divided enough to give Russia a strong foothold.

Putin is a kgb agent. If you don’t think he’s a communist and the communist rule Russia, then you don’t think.

Communism is what? - communism is when there is no rich nor poor - everybody get more or less equal salary from the state - all economy and business are in state property /that is in COMMON property of all citizens - that is where the word COMMUNism came from/ and so the only employer is the state - so how can he be a communist if there are so many Russians businessmen and business owners allover? He is nationalist. Its a pity that these days meaning of words is totally distorted by media and as a result people have no idea what the words “communism” or “communist” mean.

Communism is a political structure that is the natural product of implementing socialist policies. It marked by a dictatorship, suppression of individual rights, strict laws curbing any view outside the party line, government control of media and forced compliance against the citizens.

What you are describing is the utopian goal of socialism which has never been obtained and never will. There has always been rich and poor. In socialism, you simply have far more poor with no middle class and an elite wealthy class (communist party members) who run the system

Putin is a communist dictator that only cares about manipulating the Russian people to strengthen himself and the communist party in Russia. He will suppress and kill (and already has) any Russian that dare speak against him.

It is a pity communist Russian trolls along with communist loving radical liberal leftists, use social media sites like BB to spew communist propaganda on a US population that hasn’t been taught the evil that socialism and communism had spread across the world.

Go use your “people don’t know what communism is” propaganda on some snowflake college students.

Yes, a real pity people no longer recognize the evil that is communism.

Sometimes it sounds inevitable that Russia will invade Ukraine and meanwhile I keep hearing about the Ukrainian people committed to preparing to take this fight into underground gorilla warfare. Sad to think the people would be compelled to take matters into their own hands but it speaks to their love of freedom, at the same time it raises the question of how far Russia is willing to go to try to get past these Ukrainian Patriots and how much of Russia's atrocities against this resistance can/or will be overlooked by the rest of the world.
