It's not just the RCC which has had problems with leaders falling into various kinds of sexual sin. Including sexual abuse of children

What grieves me about this is that 'Baptist Pope' seems to be 'joyful' about this, almost gloating over the sins and pains of others. If the 'sin' of one particular pastor spoils the whole denomination, then EVERY denomination's legitimacy is questionable! These things are absolutely untrue. There is DEFINATELY somthing about the RCC that makes it a magnet for pedophiles. As for me gloating about children being molested and raped. Thats rediculous. What I do find laughable is that so many catholics just go with the flow.

I guess it's just like everything else that is sinful. Sin is subtle. it blinds and decieves without its victims even knowing it, untill one day many years later they realize they've been walking around in a fog for the the longest time...

I have lived with bigotry all my life, growing up as a catholic in Northern Ireland I couldn't avoid it.

I know these people they never shut up about the sins of the RC church but they have no burden to see catholics saved. How could this man witness to a RC, he'd get a slap in the mouth. I live with the results of this bigotry, looking at my own family who are still catholics and have been put off Christians by people like Chris Lofton.

It would be one thing if this was an isolated incident but for some people this is the only face of true christianity they see. How do we bring these people to Christ?

Chris Lofton doesn't speak for me - I want catholics to be aware of this when they see this thread.

You would think that the RCC is the only church to have a problem with pedophiles. Nevermind all the American evangelical preachers who were nailed in the FBI stings. The pastoral office, in general, attracts sexual predators of all sorts because it places them in close intimate contact with people who are emotionally vulnerable.

Edna, my advise is to ignore him, he is a one note person. To be honest, I have to wonder why somebody would be as obsessed solely with the issue of pedophilia in the RCC. Quite frankly these adhoc attacks against the RCC have gotten old.

Thanks for the support, its nice to know there are genuine Christians around who are prepared to speak out against people like this.

Ignoring this type of thing isn't easy and I'm not sure it should be allowed to go unchallenged anyway.

I wonder about this too, I don't see any genuine concern for the abused so it can't be that.

By their fruits they will be known. A person acting in a true Christian light will be easily detected regardless of the religious denomination they support.

One note of interest....this is part of a Baptist forum....I find it interesting I haven't seen (at least not using the "handle" used here) this guy on a Catholic forum. There are very few Catholics actually here and if this type of venom will eventually make us all leave....which of course could be the objective.

That is an interesting name... Seeing that the Baptist have no Pope... I'm Baptist also... A Primitive Baptist... And what I really can't understand is why attack the Catholic people?... Do they run the R.C.C.?... I would say that the Catholic who is true to his belief is appauled and grief stricken about these events.

Like I said I'm a Primitive Baptist and while I don't agree with the Catholics in a doctrinal sense they have the right to their belief.
