Aaron Judge signs Baseball contract for 360 million for 9 years
That comes out to 40 million a year
That comes out to 246,913 dollars per game
That comes out to 27,344 dollars per inning
That comes out to 4,572 dollars per out
That comes out to 1,524 dollars per strike

Do you think he is getting paid enough?

Since he is not a pitcher, could you please break that down per hits, home runs, at bats, etc?
How would 40 million breakout for the past year?

lets see - a game lasts about two hours =123,456 per hour -
I would say that is a bit above minimum wage

Or we could figure it this way
The full season lasts about 22 Feb - 28 Oct = 250 days = 35 weeks
At 35 weeks x 6 days/ wk = 210 working days
40 mil divide by 210 = $190,476 per day at 8 hours a day = 23.8 thousand per hour

It's basically a free market in MLB. So, yes, apparently, Aaron Judge thinks he is being paid enough to remain a Yankee and the Yankees apparently think that Judge is worth paying $40 million a year to keep him for the next 9 seasons.

What any private entity pays it's help is really a private matter! Not for me to say whether either or both parties are getting a "deal"!
However, it is very telling, IMHO, that this kind of money is spent for purely ENTERTAINMENT purposes, while the needs of many persons go un-met!
All kinds of wiggle room re: this topic!!

JWP -EXACTLY right!

That is the reason I prefer minor league games - esp Class A and AA

Aaron Judge has skills that very, very, very few people on planet Earth possess. And he plays for a team that makes money hand over fist in a professional sport that makes money hand over fist. Thus, he will be paid $40 million per year for the next 9 seasons.

OK! I've heard the name, but have no idea what you are talking about here, please elaborate! Thanks! (JFI, I'm not a pro BB fan!)

"One of the largest men ever to play Major League Baseball, Aaron James Judge showcased his jaw-dropping power by hitting a rookie record 52 home runs for the New York Yankees in 2017. Following a few injury-plagued seasons, he riveted the sports world by smashing an American League-record 62 home runs in 2022. The superstar athlete also devotes time to helping children through his ALL RISE Foundation."
