Well, the scriptures say Jesus will come on a white horse, and the armies in heaven followed him upon white horses. (Rev 19:11-14)

I Know It in My Heart....

....My pets will be there to greet me. If the Bible speaks about the lion laying down with the lamb, and horses being riden by the Revelations messengers, I'm sure our furry little buds will be there too!

Of course this is my opinion, and while it may not be directly supported by scripture, it is supported by what I believe I know about a loving God.

Only elected, predestined animals will be there.

<sorry, too much Calvinism debating going on around here...>

I like it. I too hope all our beloved animals are there to share in God's wonder and majesty. As well as all the animals over time who have given their lives to sustain us physically.

Piper believes animals will be a part of God's future kingdom (noted by Alcorn in his book on Heaven). I believe this is correct as animals existed prior to the fall and I believe will exist after the 2nd coming (though, I believe God will establish his kingdom on earth in a new heavens and a new earth).

Some proof texts are not always helpful. Yet, Isaiah 11:6 seems to indicate there are going to be animals in heaven without killing and destruction.

We also know that there will be all kinds of fruit in heaven (Rev 22:1-2).

Granted, some of these could be merely symbolic. However, I think the Garden of Eden was created as a heaven on earth, and the 2nd coming will restore what was lost in the fall. Thus, animals, water, fruit and even eating will be restored.

Well, if Calvinism is true the non-elect people are going to wish they were animals, because at least God won't send them to hell for making their animalistic/instinctive choices of which they have no ability to change.

I sure am hopeing that my Jack Russle Terrier, whom I am looking at over on the bed right now, is going to come running to me immediately after I reunite with my parents and sister in Heaven.

What about the other side of the coin? If pets go to heaven, is it only our pets, or is it strays or other animals? How about one who had a loyal dog, yet ends up in Hell? Does his dog get to share in this with him as well?

Also, what about all the wild animals, or is it only our pets who get to spend eternity with us?

I've had several wonderful dogs and when I think about them sometimes I miss them to this day, but I don't expect to see them in eternity. I hope I'm wrong, but this is how I see it.

But what if they die as puppies before they are able to bite, scratch, eat your slippers, etc...
