In one day Palestine murdered 1,200 civilians in Israel and kidnapped 130 civilians.

Palestine committed mass murder against Israel. They are still holding kidnapped victims as hostages. Palestine has been murdering Jewish civilians, Jewish children, for decades.

What sparked Israel going to war was the level of the evil committed in one day. This caused Israel to take the position of "never again". This is the reason Israel began the war against those terrorists.

I would fault the Palestinians first, as they committed mass murder. Then perhaps Egypt as they would not allow the people in their country. But I cannot fault Israel because war was necessary to protect their citizens against Palestinian continued attacks.

In war civilians do suffer. Children do suffer.

It is one thing to be hostile to another nation and military. It is another to mass murder and displace children. That is demon possessed.

1) Whatever actions Israel took in the first months after the atrocities committed by Hamas on October 7, 2023, that might have been seen as acceptable, I think that Israel has gone way too far after that, well past any military advantage that they could have reasonably claimed in Gaza, and have indeed been killing thousands of innocent men, women, and children, and babies.

2) Also, every single one of us, including everyone of us who are members on the Baptist Board, are pure evil in our flesh and we are all capable of horrendous atrocities:

Romans 3:9-18
What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin; as it is written,
There is none righteous, no, not one:
There is none that understandeth,
There is none that seeketh after God.
They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable;
There is none that doeth good, no, not one.
Their throat is an open sepulchre;
With their tongues they have used deceit;
The poison of asps is under their lips:
Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:
Their feet are swift to shed blood:
Destruction and misery are in their ways:
And the way of peace have they not known:
There is no fear of God before their eyes.

As the Paul wrote, even as an apostle of Christ: For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing. (Romans 7:18)

Not true, sorry you see love as hate. The 400,000 victims are the children as the OP said. Also of course the innocents murdered in Gaza. The act of mass murder is evil. It doesn't matter who does it. Even Israel
Like @Scarlett O. Imm trying to understand your perspective as well.

We are talking about 2 things:

1. Israel's war as a response to the mass murder of 1,200 of its citizens (including children) and kidnapping of 130 (including children). Obviously the war is justified (as far as wars go). Note - "justified", not "just". Israel has the responsibility to do all it can to prevent the ongoing murder of its citizens, and the war was a response to the scale of Palestines mass murder.

2. Compassion. Here we should have compassion for the Israeli civilians murdered by Palestine, the civilians kidnapped by Palestine, and the casualties on both sides as a result of the war Palestine caused.

I think your point, if Christian compassion, would be better communicated if you pointed out that you are including the Israeli civilians and children murdered by Palestine, and that continue to be murdered.

The reason some have argued strongly against your post is they misunderstood you to be isolating Israel (the victim of mass murder) as committing murder rather than waging war to prevent future attacks against its citizens.

I understand you are expressing compassion not only towards those who are suffering as casualties of war but also of those who were victims of Palestine's mass murder which sparked war as a response.

But sometimes with online forums and written communication ideas can become miscommunicated.

Of course anyone claiming that compassion for victims is' anti-semitic' is a liar.

This board is dominated by Dispensationalists that hold Jews to be The Elect, God’s Chosen People. You will be tagged as hateful, racist, anti-semitic for bashing their Sacred Cow.

It is a bad thing.
We do view the sufferings of people as bad.
But Scripture tells us that wars will continue.
There is nit a solution to work the evils out of the World.
We can still let the dying and wounded and suffering victims of terror know that Jesus is not like those who attack them. The christians that say Israel has some right to destroy children like this would be seen as monsters to them. Basically they would be saying to the child that lost his parents and sister and a leg and is starving and freezing and facing daily bombs nearby, that 'Jesus really wants this for you and your family and is with those that killed your mommy etc'

The problem is not compassion for those affected by war but advocating for the mass murder of Jews.
I fail to see any connection between making it clear Jesus is not like that or responsible for the terrorism and death and 'advocating for the mass murder of Jews'?

You will not find a worldly solution that will end all wars.
Jesus is the solution. There is no other. But that does not give a believer the right to claim that the mass murdering is just.

In one day Palestine murdered 1,200 civilians in Israel and kidnapped 130 civilians.
The 1136 or whatever number (largely with military backgrounds) were not all killed by the terrorists, but Israel as well. How many each actually killed we do not know. But Palestine killed no one. The killers/terrorists who lived in the area killed. No reason to mass murder and freeze/displace children.

They are still holding kidnapped victims as hostages. Palestine has been murdering Jewish civilians, Jewish children, for decades.
Palestine is a place. and Palestinians are people. One would not say that the Charles Manson victims were killed by 'Americans'. They were killed by crazed nutballs who happened to live in America. The terrorists that live in Palestine are not the civilians, women and children. If you want to arrest them, fine. Don't slur all of the people in the area. And don't torture/falsely arrest,starve/displace/kill them either please.

What sparked Israel going to war was the level of the evil committed in one day.
We should all be leery of the excuses for war. The reasons given for Vietnam, Iraq and other wars were false of course. We already know many of the claims about Oct 7 were false. But there was a terror attack and murders and hostages (they say most of the hostages killed so far were by Israel) and no one probably would argue if the killers were caught and arrested or even killed. The mass murder of people by Israel though is a different matter altogether.

I would fault the Palestinians first, as they committed mass murder.

No they did not do anything of the sort. They worked and shopped and went to hospitals and parks etc etc. Only the military outfit Hamas killed people. Either get them and not the population or stay home. If they can't they can't. Too bad. Maybe move? They do not get to mass murder, sorry.

Then perhaps Egypt as they would not allow the people in their country.
Why would one country get to kick out hundreds of thousands of people, take their lands and leave them poor refugee camp prisoners, and then expect that a neighbouring country should take them all in?? That is ridiculous.

But I cannot fault Israel because war was necessary to protect their citizens against Palestinian continued attacks.
Mass killing children and destroying Gaza and depriving people of medical, food and water and displacing 1.3 million in Lebanon etc was not 'necessary'. If the newcomers to Palestine cannot live in peace with neighbours in that land that is not theirs now (only when the remnant get saved in the end will God give it to them) then they can leave. Better than mass murdering people.

In war civilians fo suffer. Children do suffer.
When killers like Hitler mass murder folks, children also suffer. It is not 'war' to slaughter a population. It is murder.

When I said I saw enough orphaned and homeless children missing arms and legs, I did not mean on TV. I meant in person.

That is a consequence of war. And this war is a consequence of Palestine murdering 1,200 civilians in Israrl and kidnapping 130 civilians...including babies....in one day.
As mentioned above the death toll was due to Israel and hamas. It is also no excuse to mass murder others. Get the criminals or stay home or leave the area. Do not call torturing and starving and mass murdering people war.

I do not agree that 'whatever' Israel did would have been acceptable. Only arresting or killing the actual criminals would have been generally accepted. Not killing kids and carpet bombing a population etc

Note - "justified", not "just". Israel has the responsibility to do all it can to prevent the ongoing murder of its citizens, and the war was a response to the scale of Palestines mass murder.
The attack on civilians is not war. More and more it is starting to be seen as another theft of land and mass displacement attempt. The Palestinians killed no one. The terrorists living there did. Get them or stay home. Leave the children alone

2. Compassion. Here we should have compassion for the Israeli civilians murdered by Palestine, the civilians kidnapped by Palestine, and the casualties on both sides as a result of the war Palestine caused.
Not only by the terrorists of Hamas but Israel as mentioned. The same is true of the hostages. Funny no mention of the hostages held and raped in Israel that they were trying to free by exchange!

I think your point, if Christian compassion, would be better communicated if you pointed out that you are including the Israeli civilians and children murdered by Palestine, and that continue to be murdered.
Those with the love of God in them do not need anything better communicated. They know also that children of every nation are loved by God.
The reason some have argued strongly against your post is they misunderstood you to be isolating Israel (the victim of mass murder) as committing murder rather than waging war to prevent future attacks against its citizens.
The mass murder is not war. It is murder. For a war you need a military. Not just terrorists hiding in a city. That is not an excuse to bomblast the cities and attack the population and their houses and hospitals and schools etc. Now if they attack Iran, I would think that would be a war. How is mowing down an unarmed population a war?

I understand you are expressing compassion not only towards those who are suffering as casualties of war but also of those who were victims of Palestine's mass murder which sparked war as a response.
The victims of terrorists on either side are to be pitied. The civilians being killed by the terrorism of the state of Israel are the focus of this thread.

But sometimes with online forums and written communication ideas can become miscommunicated.
And often pastors in the christian world claim that Israel is there because God brought them in 1948 and that they have some sort of special rights to terrorize as they see fit. That is false. Looking at the fruits of such actions (the 1.3 million/400,000 children) I think it makes that clear. The message of Christians to the people in Gaza and Lebanon who had their homes destroyed and are suffering and being killed in great numbers should be that God is disgusted with this. He will bring your killers to justice soon. He died to heal and save you.

~le sigh~ I've been here for 22 years and I've not seen anyone who believes that Jews are of the Elect because they are Jews.

Jews have to be saved like everyone else.

And THAT was your purpose? To give "licks" to people? And you smile about that? I see. This is all just joke to you.

YOU are the one who said that the dead babies and raped women of Israel were "silly stories". YOU were the one who said the men killed were soldiers and not civilians.

YOU are the one who claimed people here to be unsaved. And you've done it now again. This is sad, dad2. You can only resort to claiming that those here who don't see this horrid situation as you do as not of God? That's your ONLY defense?

I can tell you exactly what lurkers will think of you whether you can understand this or not. They will see you for what your words claim. You believe Israel to be evil, the people of the Baptist Board to be unsaved and not of God, and Israel to have NO RIGHT to defend themselves, and October 7, 2023 just to be a "silly story".

Lurkers will not be fooled. And being lurkers, they won't care.
