Another "New, Improved" Bible Version!

Amy, get an R.L. Allan Bible. They are the best bound Bibles in the world. Had an oxford Bible, noticeable difference between it and the Allan. 1) Oxfords tend to have broken letters, I have one, and it does. You won't probably notice until you see the print quality of an Allan, this I noticed immediately. 2) The binding is unsurpassable, and the Bible lays flat from Genesis to Revelation. You have to see one to believe it, but the quality is much better than even an Oxford. 3) Pages in the Oxford begin to come lose, they are in mine, my ordination Bible, and it cost about 160.00 a long time ago.

Check out this site for purchasing, and no, they aren't cheap, but it would outlast probably all your bad bindings combined: www.evangelicalbible.com

Now I'm lusting for an ESV Reader's Version. Maybe my wife will buy me one for Christmas.

LOL, yeah, my fault. Hey, I will tell you this, I have the NASB in dark brown highland goatskin. It is the best leather bound Bible I've ever felt, and the print is high quality. Right out of the box it laid flat, nice and soft. I went to look at another Oxford, and comparitively, the leather of it was stiff and dry feeling, and that was their moroccan edition. Anyhow, my wife got it for me last Christmas, and it was about 200.00.

Get that honey-do list going and she just might put one in your hands for Christmas! Yes, that ESV is one nice looking piece of work brother!

Hey Amy.G, it says they aren't reprinting til 2012.

Well, you've gone and done it. I went back on the site and looked around and they have produced a 400th anniversary KJV in a special dusty blue color and I got it. They only produced 400 of them.

It came today and it's the most beautiful workmanship I've ever seen. It's amazing and I blame you for the whole thing.

I really LOVE it. They make bibles the way God's word ought to be made, not some lousy quality stuff that falls apart.

We're on the 4th page and no one here has addressed the subject of the OP for quite a while. The Common English Bible. What do you think of it?

But it's ok. I love the KJV too.

It's been a tough year and I rewarded myself. :)

I think it's more fun to talk about getting really beautiful bibles. :tongue3:

Is this the same as the CEV (Contemporary English Version?)

I don't have an Common English Bible. May be a dumb question, but they sound close.

So far all I see is talk about beautiful covers and so forth. It reminds me of a thread I started more than a year ago called "I'm so excited."

A friend was very excited about her new ESV. Very excited. After a few weeks I asked what she had read from it. And she replied something along the lines of:"I haven't read it. I just love the cover and the way it feels!"

No,different translation. I'm still waiting for Franklin to give us a review of the CEB.
